After being a mid-80s HS pitcher, Gilberto decided to pursue boxing. Going to FSU at the time, not playing baseball, he decided he wanted to give it another shot. He tried out for the team, sitting 92-93, and was given an opportunity, but he couldn't play because he was only a part-time student.
Fast forward to now and he just sat 95 in his Pro Day with two solid offspeed offerings and is trying to figure out the next step.
