Need more of this and let people know ….boxing is a martial art rooted in self defense….accountability goes both ways and every action has a counter action. Don’t let powers that be water down the sport and give a product similar to “slap wars” in boxing. Boxing fans have to understand it’s about jockeying for optimal position. Without letting the boxers fight through the clinch…boxing will be catered to athletic prowess, speed and reflexes while eliminating the practical application of guard control and inside fighting. Jockeying for position inside the trenches is the true neutral range of combat and grounded on fighter iq and intuition. People complaining about clinching don’t realize they’re promoting more clinching. In order to counter a hit and hold fighter, one must know how to counter the holds and clinches to reset the point of control. Eliminating clinching from a fight will force fighters to not pace a fight for full 12, resort to 50/50 unpredictable exchanges favoring the more athletically gifted fighter. Good example is Duran vs SRL. First fight SRL failed his scouting report and tried to fight Durans game inside, he failed. “No Mas” is a fight where SRL avoided clinch fighting in the trenches at all cost and stayed away from engaging as much as possible. Duran said forget this, “ I’d rather fight through the clinch instead of chasing and trapping SRL.” Without clinches the next thing they’ll complain about is fighters “running away.” Which is why, if boxing media and suits cater to more fan complaints about the martial art of boxing; they won’t have practical inside fighting demonstrated or even learn how to keep an opponent at bay. What they’re demanding is rock em sock em robots/slap wars with no fighting instinct or iq demonstrated to quench their thirst of seeing punches land. Impatient fans always want the end product without appreciating the steps to get there. If that’s the case it’s just like watching dice roll and see which numbers come out on top. They demand dice rolling boxing is what it sounds like, or roulette…these kind of boxing fans need to just stick to table games at the casino.

just gave someone a similar talking too, not as articulate.but there's more to this than riding the stick. and dude is complaining about clinching, and how it's a bad habit and it's cheating. He preferred percision boxing he said.I told him percision is mastery, And in boxing that is knowing the ins and outs , which i includes, breaking the clinch, working off of it , or even setting up offence with it, so came ttry tag a video about this shit, came across your comment.

Nice! Used to thaï boxing, but with covid, no gym. So i train with a friend who's a good orthodox boxer. I can't go out from the clinch. Now, i'll work on it!
