I like the way your bags respond to your punches! Can you do a video on properly hanging one tightly and loosely- And maybe some info on some good bag brands and good ropes/bungees to hang the bag with?

I thought that I would really like your video..........until I watched it.........I loved it! Man, out of all the double ended bag training videos, yours made sense. I love how you explained quickly yet informatively how this bag can/should be hit, what it can be utilized for and how to not be stagnant while hitting the bag. I would really enjoy for you to show a video of you using proper foot work and combinations on the bag or just explaining techniques for beginners like myself. I am going to my boxing class now after watching this. Thanks

In Australia- and I suspect lotsa' other places - we call 'em floor-to-ceiling balls...cos' that's what they are ! And a 'speedbag' ? It's a speedball...it isn't a bag per se, rather, it's a ball.

@@terrycarthy4433 Thats because you are in Australia. I believe the UK also refers to them as Australia does. But the major companies like everlast, cleto reyes, title, etc, refer to their products as double end bags and speed bags. If you try to purchase one, thats what they are called.

Good question. The versatility of the double end bag allows you to do both. That's the beauty of it. I see too many guys just tap and play with it all the time. Throwing those short, little pity-pat punches you're talking about. I don't think that's making the best use of it. Working full range, both and inside and out will make you a more versatile fighter. From what you're describing you're taking full advantage of what the double end bag was made to accomplish.

+badgrfan The slender bag is approximately 10x19. It is UBC Underground Boxing Company. The fatter bag is about 32x11 and it is old. Doesn't exist they have similar ones at Title Boxing though. The black one www.titleboxing.com/punching-bags/double-end-bags/double-end-bags/title-double-end-bag

Swinging Southpaw Style - It’s great if used correctly. It doesn’t replace a standard double end bag though because its extra mass causes it to move slower. The bonus is the ability to throw body shots, block/dodge, and mix up shots though.

King Willie Thanks for your insight and response Sir. Much obliged. I have heard exactly what you said from others too. Question? Do you own BOTH types of bag? I’m considering buying other type myself, but the Mexican Style for sure. I get all of the different types and weights of heavy bag at the club but want to mix up my training at home.
