The McKean fight was actually a better performance than against Zhang imo, but that is in part because McKean has a style that is tricky for Hrgovic to pin down and Hrgovic did have success at times doing so. I still cannot believe how it was stopped however 3:47

Dubois is a guy who has a huge heart that both can help and hurt imo. It helped him survive Lerena which he and any fighter probably should have lost and I don't mean due to the ref controversy, but simply how it happened. His heart and WILLINGNESS to do the smartest thing ever and take KNEES saved him. it is crazy how his fear of what happened with Joyce clearly forced him upwards and the fact he is even still fighting at all is amazing to me. we see guys come around with huge power and just lose once and that is it 5:42 also at the same time his emotional state which is what we consider heart was not shattered but scorned you could say in the Usyk fight. The disappointment etc if he does truly believe in his head and heart that the blow landed legally and not began below the waistband...

I remember when Hrgovic turned pro. I was really high on him, but I think he has regressed and basically dying on the vine with too low level opposition for too long. As you point out he dosen’t really use his Boxing skills but just relies on his right hand. I’m not that high on Dubois to be honest. I thought he was outclassed by Usyk and I’m not sure how much credit he deserves for the Miller win. But, I do think this is a good match up and it gives one of them, or perhaps both, the opportunity to Rise to the occasion. I favour Hrgovic but I kind of hope Dubois wins because of Hrgovic’s antics of fighting low level opposition and wasted his potential.

I like DDD but he's limited, I doubt he'll ever get a belt, as of late he's took good fights, but being found wanting mainly because he's basic. apparently DDD's main asset is his punch power despite not a massive puncher in my opinion (personally I think its his handspeed and gas tank, he showed these two things vs millar and wore him down with activity and fast combinations, not alot to brag about though, he was a punch bag after 5 rounds), The people blowing smoke up his arse years ago were spouting he's the next AJ, he's the next knockout artist, yet he spent the start of his career knocking over cruiserweights and hasn't knocked out anyone good, compare him to AJ who's knocked out good competition several times, there's a gulf in difference and each time DDD has attempted to step up, its shown itself, I can't see this fight being any different. Hergovic hasn't took boxing seriously in years or had much activity, I don't think he's looked in good shape either tbh, his second best fight on paper was mckean and he looked soft and sluggish, that was 9 months ago after a year layoff after the zhang fight, then we saw him poke demori afew times, aside from the zhang fight, herogvic comes across as an unknown to some degree, DDD will certainly test him, hergovic has had the time to get in shape, I think we'll see a better hergovic vs DDD, the money is there, the fights are been made, there's no excuse. Hergovic didn't look good vs zhang and still weathered the storm and did the bare minimum to win it (I still pref a draw, but he did win it) I watched an interview with hergovic saying zhang got him at his worse, due to his dad dying in camp and other personal issues, so if this is hergovic at his worse and he still stepped up to the plate like this, I wouldnt want to fight him at his best, one thing I'll point out, hergovic took zhangs shots, Joyce who's reputed to have the best chin in the division got cracked, herogovic didn't ,Joyce took DDD shots without issue, so its likely zhang punches a hell of alot harder than DDD (boxing math), I think zhang would deal with DDD in 4 rounds as well tbh.

This is the fight where we will see if Hrgovic is a real deal.

Just saw the post, and I have to say before watching that this is a truly pivotal fight for the division and I mean possibly for the long-term. Hrgovic came out of the 2016 Olympics and all touted as the guy with that Vitali-esque style that would bludgeon you and move, not to run, not at all, but to position self to do more damage. Remember the Vitali v Arreola fight? That was the idea, at least in my mind. Instead, we've seen a guy who does not have the fasted hands begin relying almost exclusively, at least until he encounters serious resistance, a straight right hand. Bc of Wilder and while not nearly as much credit, but certainly a good deal goes also to AJ. Let's not forget his straight right. I do not even include the Ngannou KO. Look at Povetkin and I felt Aj may have been slightly behind on the cards at the time. It has become THE PUNCH for the division. This fight here shows one ASCENDING talent in Dubois against a guy in Hrgovic viewed by some--the esteemed American Richard Dwyer Esq. among others--as the heir-apparent to the division but who has continuously underperformed and come in out of shape. The actual weight does not matter, it is how it can be functional and advantageous. Just bc you're at a career low does not mean you are at your best and same for heaviest and worst. This could be a watershed moment in hindsight

Never been sold on the hype of Hrgovic, and he has done LITTLE to change my mind, based on his last FOUR fights (NOT including de mori) And the same with Dubois For me....this is THE 50/50 at a point where which ever loses... I think go a long way down the order

Hrga has a great jab, and DDD is allergic to jabs. So I predict 8-10 round quitting. Hope Dubois has grown on his past losses and proves me wrong.

As a Brit i want Dubois to win but either way should be a good match.

this is a great fight...if Hrgovic can bring his A game he should win but Dubois has real skills and shown he can be tough...sometimes.... if Hrgovic doesn't win I'm not sure where he'll get a big win but they're both pretty young...can't wait for this one...if i was a betting man i'd put some money on Dubois for a KO...might be good odds

Dubois HAS the desire. The fact he has come back from the Joyce and Lerena fights is shocking. Those fights were the type which BREAK even some of the toughest of mental athletes. This is a fight about pedigree imo and if it is used properly 1:30 I even FORGOT the Usyk fight omg. The fact he failed to foloow up on the body and relied on a questionable shot no matter whether low or not, it was called low immediately and Dubois somehow failed to take advantage of the hurt man. Dempsey McKean could easily have been up on the cards in their fight--obv he was not--and the stoppage was shady. He did not even go down and it was clearly CLOSE. And we KNOW Hrgovic has the talent, but the desire? 0:51

Imo the fight depends on what kind of defense Hrgovic comes in with. It has improved in his last 2 fights, if it stays like that vs DDD or if it continues to improve then it's an easy night for Hrgovic. If it will be poor like before Zhang fight he will struggle at times but still win.

I think Dubois has the power advantage, and it will be about who can maintain their construct--Dubois did this phenomenally against Miller but we know these things never stay steady--who employs the right gameplan, and also durability. I could definitely see a later Hrgovic stoppage maybe from behind after Dubois has been throwing the kitchen sink at him, but I could also see him get outworked and ground down by DDD. This is the best fight for me, personally, other than the undisputed bc aj wilder is a myth or if it happens a lewis tyson let down bc the guys are not what they were

I put Dubois in the same category as Joyce: good thumpers but low ring IQ. I do not see Dubois as a quitter. He’s just been out-boxed on several occasions. This will happen again unless he lands one.

Yeah, he got the decision against Zhang, but he was seriously stunned multiple times even if as some believe, the KD in rd 1 was actually a slip or elbow. It is irrelevant. Even that performance, I was impressed with the work Zhang did to win his rounds. Hrgovic won rounds by the skin of his teeth and we finally saw some of the back foot and length he was touted for. But that was not a good performance by him. His construct was off. It was just so uneven regardless of whether he won on the cards legit or not. Does not matter, the performance outside the decision was not impressive to me 0:51

Im still not convinced Dubois is tough enough mentally to be a world champion. Going life and death with Pharma isnt something to boast about, yeah he showed good determination, but Pharma wasnt throwing anything back. Hrgovic on the other hand maybe grabs a vacant title, solid B level fighter, but I think this version of Parker beats him.

Call me crazy but I think Dubois can win this. Hrgovic can also win it for sure, don't get me wrong, but I haven't been impressed with the way Filip often resorts to rabbit punching when he can't hurt them legitimately. It's not an occasional thing and it won't work against increasingly higher level opponents. I think DDD might be enough to slow the Croatian's trajectory and find his level. But if Hrgovic beats DDD all power to him and he'll prove me wrong.

Dubois was demolished by Joyce using only a Jab. A slow Jab. How the hell is he going to deal with Hrgovic who is a really aggressive fighter. I see only a punchers chance for Dubois. Hrgovic will outbox him.

I think in terms of power there is little difference between the two guys and punch resistance I see Hrgovic being slightly More durable but not by much. I think Hrgovic wins on points but it might come down to who hits the canvas the most.

He is trying to become "exciting fighter" because he doesn't get many fights by his traditional boxing.

Hrgovic has 25-4 in WSB, which is 5x3 rounds. He was the first champion of WSB at only 21 years of age. Everyone who knows boxing knows how hard is to come to the Olympic games and win the medal. Different levels to this sport an Dubois has been battle tested by the very best whilst Hrgovic has feasted on complete rubbish all be it Zhang which he should have lost.
