I talk a little Boy's Life by Robert McCammon. One of my scheduled reads for the month of April. How did it hold up to Summer of Night and IT?

I'm reading this one right now. Just got to where Summer's starting. Really enjoying it so far. The way Robert McCammon writes not only paints a very detailed picture of whatever's going on, but it also allows things to sink in and stick with you. In most books I'll forget things that happened but with this one everything is being retained without any effort. Something about the writing really sticks with me. Maybe it's due to how immersive the book is.

Hey man! I got about a minute into your intro & hit "subscribe"...nice work! I read Boy's Life in the early 90's & loved it. My favorite authors at that time were Stephen King & Peter Straub & this book held up well to those & surpassed in some ways. I followed it with "Swan Song" which I recall loving...then tried "Stinger" and for some reason, it didn't work for me & that ended my McCammon streak for me. Your review makes me want to reread!! Thanks!

I read this in and Swan Song in December, and absolutely adored both books. McCammon was my favorite “new to me” author read last year … by a lot. Great review!

Holy crap very impressive! I read Boy’s Life and needed a break before tackling Swan Song… just destroyed me and had to contemplate it for a while… I could never have read those books back to back… my hat off to you Bro!.. your a beast man lol!

Great review! Loved the intro. Man I've been waiting on this review. I was interested to see where you'd rate it with It and Summer of Night. Boys Life and It are two of my favorite books and I'm not sure which I like better. I just finished Summer of Night and really liked it a lot as well but I'd definitely have to put King and McCammon at the top on coming of age horror novels.

All 3 of them are so damn good. I finished Boy's Life 5 days ago now and I'm still thinking about it. McCammon tapped into something that is really really rare. He made me feel the Magic again.
