The AT Rifle should be for Disabling tracks, or in some cases engines. But, it can't even do that reliably.

I cant stop using it its sometimes challanging to use but also very satisfying. I love the sound and i espacially love the blast the bullet makes on impact.

This gun literally requires only about 20% skill to use bruh. I picked up someone's on the ground and went absolutely IN on the enemies. Overpowered ass gun man....

Stuff I’ve learned by using this weapon: Effective against transports. Better used as a troll sniper rifle. If anything, use it as a support weapon for Assaults. However... This gun is so fun to annoy tanks with. Just knicking a few points of health every shot adds up, and it drives tank drivers crazy. So much fun to pester and distract them with it. If you can flank a tank to its rear or sides, also exceptionally fun to destroy their engines and turret. The weapon is also useful for taking down cover and walls. You can even get that sweet debris damage if you aim correctly. Lastly, this gun is surprisingly good as an Anti Air weapon. One shot took out a wing and did a good amount of damage. I’d love to see someone coordinate and make a squad of these AT rifles. Biggest troll for enemy tanks and even planes haha

It was only meant to get mobility kills anyway. The tactic was to shoot the tracks off, which it could do even against a Tiger. As for one shot kill, all the bloody sniper rifles should be that.

What about any testing regarding damage/effects of the AT rifle against different parts of the tank? I’m sure plenty of others said it already, but this gun is probably the same idea as the BF1 K bullets. You think it might be possible to get a kill on the tank driver? Especially with the piercing rounds (when it gets fixed that is)?

Unpopular opinion; bypods should act slow and clunky, these guns are huge and extremely overpowered, it's the only balance on it.

Battlefield 2 has a WWII mod called Forgotten Hope 2, and the British Army have the Boys AT. The difference is that you have to feed one bullet at time directly in the chamber, and you can only use the gun lying down on the ground. Much better, IMO

Nothing will beat the Martini Henry though. The legend.

Pls stop suggesting "fixing" bipods on your videos. They are not "broken" they are BALANCED. Its hard, and takes time to bipod weapons so they won't be overpowered. Imagine having the Boys AT with 1 body shot kill, with a bipod that deploy fast and easy when you go prone. Same goes for the MMGs. They are already very powerful, and would be completely overpowered if you could go prone and shoot them immediately. Bipods are SUPPOSED to be for the camping style irl AND in bfv. You take your chances, having a powerful weapon, but with the movement limitations of the bipod. Simple as that. Hope DICE wont listen to your feedback and make MMGs and the Boys AT even more annoying to die to that they already are.

The Boys AT Rifle was used and destroyed a Neubaufahrzeug (german prototype tank) in the tiny village I come from during the fiercest fighting in the Norwegian campaign. Really interesting to see it ingame, despite its uselessness gameplay-wise.

I hope it can at least track tanks or disable engines from the right shot. Even if it’s like a dead on rear shot or something. It should also have super high penetration on cover. Like shoot right through a building or something

Pro tip, don't aim for the armored parts of the tank. From the front, target the tracks, usually takes 1 shot unless it is a heavy tank. If you are on the side of the tank, target the large gears at the front and rear of the tracks, even on a heavy tank it will 1 shot it. On the rear of the tank, target the engine compartment, usually takes 1-2 shots. Hitting the engine from the side takes more.

Calling the bipod-deploy-system "utter garbage" is a bit harsh, tbh. It is not amazing but def solid atm.

an anti-tank rifle, designed to pierce armor with speed, having such a slow muzzle velocity is kinda dumb.

I think a good fix would be to change up the effectiveness against different types of armor. Armored car (open topped)? 40-50 dam per shot rather than the 10 it does now. Transport/halftrack? 25-35. Staghound/pz38t? 15-25. Also aircraft, (preferably all types) 25-35. Keep the damage against the medium and heavy tanks low because that is why they went with the piat, it couldn't do much against them. I think this would keep it a niche weapon but have its effectiveness in its niche greatly increased.

Instead of making weapons require a deployed bi-pod, Dice could change the mechanic to being only able to fire those guns while being stationary. It has been done before, it could be done again.

Mastery V : In PVP kill 15 enemies over 100m in one round, or in PVP kill 30 enemies over 100m in total... Damn, thats really painful. And also, DICE still not fix the bug of LS/26 Mastery V&VI. Now it still need "headshot" to progress,which is not mentioned in assignment description.

i think the bipod mechanics are fine. it SHOULD be hard to deploy and clunky to use. its more realsitic that way, and it makes sense that its difficult and takes several seconds to deploy

Easter Egg disclaimer. Medic Packs. About 2 hours ago, I was playing BF V conquest in my Ps4 as a Medic. I was hurt and I press the self healing button, and the animation for that was my character using "the force" pulled up a medic pack of the ground and catch it in the air. I was runnin with the Medic Bag, Trombocino, MK 4 revolver. Playing in Arrás close to E flag as the Axis soldier.

Suggestions for the BOYS AT ... Buff per-shot damage against vehicles by about 75-100% against Heavy tanks, 15-20% for medium tanks and 7-9% for light tanks. Decrease the effective range of 1-shot body shot against infantry a slight amount (maybe 20 meters) and/or decrease the effectiveness of it's hipfire a tiny bit if needed... Then: Allow this weapon to be properly aimed down sights with perhaps more weapon sway and strictly Iron sights if necessary, THEN: Move this to the equipment category with one magazine capacity and two bullets. Resupply stations give you 2 rounds, support crates 1 (think flares.) One could potentially get 5 one shot body shots, but being far more reliant on refilling ammo we could find some balance. Just a thought.

DICE was going to make this a gadget...but then they thought about it for 3 seconds and realized that everyone using it would just end up playing w it as their "overpowered, one hit kill" cheese weapon anyway. I love ya LevelCap, but youre talking complete nonsense in this video.

There was the Mark.I boys AT rifle with a maximum penetration of up to 21mm. @ 100 yards @ 0 degrees inclination and the shorter barrelled Mark.II AT Rifle with a maximum penetration of up to 18mm. @ 100 yards @ 0 degrees inclination. The Mark.II was used for sniping, counter sniping and anti-material work. Many years ago I met a former counter sniper who served in Italy 1943 and he told me off the time he shot a German sniper through a brick wall of a house because he knew where he was standing as he could see (using his scope) the sniper's position in the reflection from a wardrobe mirror in the room (which the sniper was using to see down the street).

I remember Bungie used to have a motto, "balance for fun". This gun seems to fail that, they made it too powerful and then to balance it they decided you needed to use a bipod (which is the opposite of fun).

Before BFV, DICE told us they wanted to do something about the snipers who sit way off in the distance and don’t PTFO. And now they’re giving those exact kinds of players the perfect toy. Well done, idiots.

I really dont want this in the gadget slot. Its already my favorite weapon in the game, true the set up mechanics for firing the dam thing are annoying and they need an overhaul across the board. However, I love the challanging playstyle you need to adopt to use the weapon aggressively as I do. I love it! Also LevelCap sorry but I have to disagree about *not* needing skill to use the weapon. Sure you can hide in a corner and annihilate people but thats true of all weapons in the game. To play aggressively and effectively with the weapon you need to have great map knowledge and situational awareness and a decent understanding of large calibur bullet balistics . . . And a healthy dose of luck. (Ps. I play the recon class as my main)

For using this against vehicles, you gotta do what it was made for. Target tracks, possibly turret rings, not always 100% reliable. But you can get some decent points for disabling tracks, not to mention interrupting repairs on vehicles which pisses off a lot of folks.

I cant even play this patch on PC. The game is unplayable for me with a gtx 1080ti and a i9. I dont know what happened but the patch messed up this game!

I hate this weapon, counter sniping campers is so much harder now since you cant draw fire and are instantly killed with a body shot.

DICE should use a simpler bipod mechanic like Red Orchestra 2's. In that game, all you had to do was aim with your weapon over any ledge and it gives you the stable aim. In fact, you could use that mechanic with any weapon, not just bipoded ones.

I use the AT rifle all the time when I feel like I want to annoy the tanks. Very much effective when you hit any tank from the rear. I have a buddy who I squad with and we usually team up to use the at rifle and we try to be on the opposite direction so we can confuse the tank and not have a tank isolate us to one location. It helps when the other AT rifle aims for the turret. 2-3 shots will render the turret disabled. While AT shots to the rear will cause usually 15-30 damage. After 7-8 shots from both me and my squad, that tiger is out.

It's a fun gun for sure. It's not op or practical, but it's fun as hell. I enjoy using it for the challenge factor and the sound it makes is awesome. I try to be aggressive as hell with it, I rush flags etc but it's not easy at all. It needs to stay a primary honestly

I think its kinda a high risk high reward weapon, i hope they dont nerf it to death just bc right now everyone is using it bc its new. Overall u cant get more performance (better k/ds and more ks in general) out of it than if using a different weapon. If they nerf it, it will be underpowered with the bipotting and long reload.

Looking back, the AT rifles definitely would've been better off being gadget weapons to give Recon some sort of ability to take on tanks. And they could've given them only one magazine too so that people can't camp with them all game long or at least not make it easy to camp with it. With it as a gadget weapon they could also afford to buff the damage for them to 10 base and maybe 20 when hitting weak spots like rear armor and tracks.
