Lyrics:
Here we are, in a room full of strangers
And an open door
Here we are, away from all danger
But that open door is calling out again
Acting like a friend who wants to know
If you might come away
I wonder what you'll say
You wonder out again.
On wings of the night
Once again you'll take flight
And I don't hear your voice anymore
Tonight's dreams will end
But I'll stay long after then
And you can have me anytime.
Here we are
Alone in the shadows of our lonely room
Here we are
We all hollows those very lonely rooms
Like a faithless child
Frightened of the wild he runs and hides
To keep from being still
We run around until
We lose ourselves again.

Everyone says he still has it. I haven't seen him for years. He was a big part of my growing up. First saw him when I was 15. Before he blew up with Silk Degrees. Saw him live throughout my teens and 20s. Live in the San Francisco Bay Area as he does. One time I went to a concert when I was a teen with my parents. We got there late because the car broke down on the way. The place was already packed so we couldn't sit together. I found a seat. Who was sitting about 5 seats down? Boz! I spent half the time looking at the show and half the time looking at him!

Incredible work of art by everyone involved in the creation of this beautiful ballad. There used to be a bootleg copy on KZfaq that was removed that had a highly detailed description of the players in the video versus the studio musicians that I wasn't aware of prior to reading those comments in the now removed bootleg. Regardless, this is a great example of how good a song can be with such a talented team of artists.

Margie Baez - I still feel that way about my last ex-girlfriend. She meant more than anything on this earth 🌎 to me. Her insecurities destroyed our relationship of 4 years, last October. I sent her a letter last week, which arrived a couple of days ago, along with Birthday cards, that I had already had purchased before everything fell apart.... I still love her. We were soulmates. We both were told that by a few people we knew together. We could finish each other's sentences! I knew when she wasn't feeling well.... I sensed it, and woke up, and used to rub her back, when she was suffering. She asked me how I knew? I told her "I feel everything that you feel, too". I prayed over her more times than I have ever prayed my entire life. Nothing meant more to me than her.... God willing, she will open up her heart, and realize that "I still do"(love her), always & forever ♾️....

@@toobboob4u so what? Donovan taught John Lennon Travis Picking that's when Santana would gravitate more towards the strap for a few years coming off a marathon and then especially on Zebop. and then just before the next album he would build a guitar with the young luthier name Paul Reed Smith. pretty much has remained loyal to for almost 40 years

@@toobboob4u Mike didn’t teach Santana anything. Santana played on the song. Mike is mimicking it in the video. The only guitar players on the album are Santana, Lukather and Ray Parker.

This video was cast with Scaggs' touring band from the early 1980's "Middle Man" tour. Those personnel are the great Michael Landau (guitars), Michael Porcaro (bass), Randy Kerber and David Garfield (keys) and the late Carlos Vega (drums). The original studio tack, which is on the video, was performed by Carlos Santana (guitar solo), Steve Lukather (guitars), David Foster (keys/rhodes/piano), Jeff Porcaro (drums - Mike's brother), David hungate (bass) and Marty Paich (string arrangement). GREAT SONG!

Yep.. so cool to see Steve Lukather and the Porcaro brothers (all of whom would go on to form Toto), and of course David Foster who not only wrote a million hit songs, but cranked out probably dozens of scores for big movies.
