Nicholas II was a good man and a dedicated Tsar who believed in ruling as a Christian ruler. The regicide and the murder of the imperial family is one of the most ghastly acts conceived. May God have mercy on the souls of those wicked brutes who conceived such a heinous act. I couldn’t forgive them. However I remember the words of Nicholas which his loving daughter Olga, who loved her father so much, wrote. It’s is not evil that conquers evil but only love.

The only saving grace is that they achieved Imortality at the price of their lives especially the children. I think this tugs on all our heartstrings. But they will never get old in our eyes. My namesake Shepard was murdered by the Nazi's when he was 21. Again, its a trajedy but he will never get old like the rest of us. My mothers love for him was undying and reached beyond the grave to her other Son who dedicated himself to keep his uncle's memory alive. And my granson will be named Shepard too. So my uncle will not die for the foreseeable future as his memory will be kept alive.
@jboycaceres2871 Жыл бұрын
If you can't forgive the murderers of the Imperial Family, then God have mercy on your soul. Firstly, you are not yet born when they were executed. Secondly, their death most probably do not affect your day-to-day activities. Lastly, it's a Christian thing to forgive, Nicholas is not God. We don't even know if he's in heaven or not. Yours is just a feeling of nostalgia with hate.
@condelevante4 Жыл бұрын
@@jboycaceres2871 Only God can forgive their sins. I have no power there. As for the chritsian idea of mercy, yes I do believe in it. We should be merciful, even for the worst of people. However not in a cheap way. For example can I absolve Hitler or Lenin or Nero of their crimes. I am in no position to do so. But God is, so that is to whom I appeal in an act of mercy )because in my own self I could not find it)

Yes it was a terrible thing to do, but in 1905, more than 100 workers were killed and hundreds were wounded when police fired on a peaceful demonstration in front of the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. These were not jet setting nobility...and their trappings of jewelry and dress belonged not to themselves but to Russia and the Russian people. Not their "wealth" but their example of a personal life was the greatest threat to Bolshevism. I always remember Pasternak's words in Zhivago about the revolution..."The personal life is dead in Russia." That's why the Creator who made us persons after Himself had to be scorned as well. Nicholas II is a good father, but he is not a good leader of a country which has heaps of historical burdens. I think Alexander II would create a better Russian Empire. Unfortunately, he was killed by the bomb. BTW, what's the name of the first song?

Dsh 123: It's sung all the time. The prelude which figures in Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture is not God Save the Tsar. It's the liturgical (church) troparion for the Holy Cross in Tone One in L'vov, later Bakhmetev, Obikhod (Imperial Court Chant) so it wasn't written by Tchaikovski either. Look here under famous troparia: orthodoxwiki.org/Troparion for the text and brief history.

I never said God Save The Tsar is in the prelude. However, if you listen to the final crescendo, you can hear the baselines of it. Nor did I ever say Tchaikovskii wrote the anthem or the prelude. The first song here is the hymn Save O Lord, Thy People.

It is said that one of the communist guards responsible for the watch of the czar changed his thoughts about the Romanov, he started to have the impression that the czar was a simple and good man, even wishing for their escape. Probably this guard regretted being part of the revolution.
