He was the best part of that show.. Brad was over the top hammy.

Peter got an Emmy for a superb guest role on X-Files, but should have won a couple for ‘Raymond’. I often wonder if the Emmy voters were not aware that Peter played Frank completely against his personality type. Boyle was a sensitive, thoughtful, philosophical man, which made his portrayal of the lovable curmudgeon Frank all the more a great accomplishment. It was just at the beginning of all this PC bullshit and madness and dumb voters may have equated no-nonsense Frank with the actor. But Peter was a genius. All the main cast on that show were brilliant.

I agree. Both were great on the show, but it would've been nice for Boyle to get one. He did win an Emmy as guest actor for The X-Files though.

@Reginald Wilson I think the problem was that Boyle's character was written too one dimensional, whereas Brad's character was more layered. Both were excellent actors on the show.
