A father’s love is SO important. I know a lot of people take pride that they can do it on their own and that’s also amazing, but I promise you having two parents and double the support is very important.

This one gets me every time. My Daddy adopted me and Married my Mama when I was 2 years old. I'm 40 now, and have never met my biological father. My Daddy passed away a year and a half ago, and I thank God every single day that I had him in my life.

This goes both ways! 22 years ago I married my man who was a single daddy to a little boy and girl! They now are grown, with kiddos of their own and I have the high honor and privilege to be grandma and it is the best reward ever!

My dad had 4 kids when he met my mom. She took on the responsibility of being a mom to 4 kids. She is the only person that I call mom. Maybe she's not my mom by birth, but I believe it's even better to have a mom who chose to be your mother.

My step-dad is the best thing that ever happened to me. I was 22 when my mom remarried. I'm almost.34 now. My real dad was never really there. He didn't really want kids. So im forever thankful to God for my parents crossing paths❤ he's half the Dad, he didn't have to be.

My daughter dedicated this song to her dad! He came along when she was 3 and he ended up adopting her!! I got a good one for her dad!! That's what was important to me! He had to love her too! We were a package deal! I'll always be grateful for everything he's done for her! When we got married she said someday she was going to marry her daddy! That happened when he adopted her! Then we bought a bride doll and had the date embroidered on the back of the dress! I am truly blessed!! My biological father didn't really want us but my step dad was my dad!! So much meaning in this song! I love it!

Back when I wasn't being a good father, hooked on cocaine, my kids mother's boyfriend picked up my slack. This song used to trigger me in such a bad way. It still saddens me that I failed, but I've since gotten back to being the father I once was, and I couldn't before thankful for him.

Like you said, single moms and dads need to be sooooo careful choosing a spouse. My big sister chose the wrong guy. He had a little two year old boy that my parents and I absolutely fell in love with. Her new husband was not a bad guy but just the wrong guy. They divorced after just a few short years and we, of course, lost our sweet boy. Ex-inlaws not of blood have no rights whatsoever. So, we were completely devastated. It was like a death I kid you not. During that marriage my sister gave birth to a baby boy, who was, in turn, raised by her next husband who that boy, now in his forties, claims this song was written about. Or, at least, could’ve been. He’s been a great dad to my nephew and I’m proud to have him as my brother. Thanks for covering this song!❤

I always said that this reminded me of my Grandpa with my mom and her sister Sharon. My grandma had two kids from her first marriage, and the marriage didn't end well. She went on to meet my grandpa, and whenever he would come to visit, my mom and her sister would call him Daddy George. One day he came to visit, and instead of calling him Daddy George, it was just Daddy. Sure enough, they went on to marry, and have two more daughters. My grandparents were married for 50 years, before he passed away from lung cancer. My Aunt Sharon always said that he was the only father that she ever had. My grandpa loved my Mom and Aunt Sharon, as if they were his own flesh and blood.

As sweet as the image of the boy being invited to go along is, it usually is better for the couple to be able to determine they are going to be in a stable relationship before introducing the child(ren)to the new person. There are a plethora of emotions all around trying to forge those bonds. Particularly, if a kid gets attached and then the person leaves his life, it can be an emotional trauma. Still there are a lot of blended families that make it work, so good wishes and prayers for them.

I have seen lots of reaction channels that mostly have sponsored reactions. There are people willing to pay extra to move their favored song to the head of the line, and I cannot blame reactors for accepting that - within the bounds of keeping their viewership up (can't be limited to Gregorian chant dirges, for instance). Recording, editing and posting reactions takes a significant investment of time and there's nothing wrong with reactors getting paid for that time.

Today in this time, it the kids, then the mom, then the dog, then the mom's friends, then the mom's family and then the man. He will never be thought of first or as the head of the family. All they see him as is a money machine or ATM. When she divorces him, she gets cash and prizes and takes the kids with her because they arnt his kids.

Notice that the Song isn't "half the Father, he didn't have to be" but "Half the DAD, he didn't have to be". Any Dick can be a father.....But a man earns the Title "DAD"!
