This hadith refers to innovation in matters of creed, if it were referring to all matters of Religion then almost everything we have today including Harakat, Minarets, Tafsirs and even the books of Hadith which you are quoting would be impermissible as they were developed and graded under systems and methods developed over 200 years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the version which is mentioned in the sahih collection of Imam Muslim refers to evil actions which run contrary to the commands of Allah ﷻ and his Messenger ﷺ. As for actions which are beneficial to the Muslims, these are encouraged and permissible. "He who introduced some good practice in Islam which was followed after him (by people) he would be assured of reward like one who followed it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who introduced some evil practice in Islam which had been followed subsequently (by others), he would be required to bear the burden like that of one who followed this (evil practice) without their's being diminished in any respect." It is certainy a good act in islam and has been ratified and approved of by the Ulema of Ahlus Sunna for centuries. Those who oppose the Mawlid are misguided fools who seek to cause division withhin the ummah in order to promote their own deviated ideology, they often misquote Ahadith of which they have no understanding and when they open their mouthes in order to spread their vile poison, we should think that it is Shayatin who are speaking, not human beings and certainly not people of wisdom and scholarship.
