This makes me so happy. You two have no idea! I love that I get to witness you both fall in love with metal. And I’m glad Alex commented to encourage you to get to this one quickly. This is deathcore....with a strong nu-metal feel. This band isn’t for non-metalheads, yet you’re both embracing it fully! You’re both officially metalheads now. “Agony” next? 🤘🏻🖤

Hearing this song for the first time made me feel like I did the first time I heard Slipknot back in 99. You can't really compare the two bands but I haven't been this excited about a band in a long time. Slaughter to Prevail is coming in hard AF!!! You guys have to do all Slipknot but the first two albums are insane haha!!!

Alex Terrible is a huge Slipknot fan, so an apt comparison. Slipknot has been one of his big inspirations so it's no coincidence that you notice some aspects that remind you of Slipknot.

Tallah is a recent band that gave me the same feeling I had when I first heard Slipknot back in '99. Their drummer, Max Portnoy (son of Mark Portnoy), said that his biggest influence was Joey Jordison and you can definitely hear it in his drumming style.

Well fucking everything standpoint its Sub-Par, there are MUCH better songs out there but I think its the whole aesthetic of a dude in a cool as mask, doing NU metal (which is arguably the most digestible metal) mixed with deathcore. Its a great mix, plus yk big Russian in golden mask wrestling with bear

@@fredtello In your opinion. I've been a metalhead for over 12 years. I'm mostly into Technical death metal, extreme metal, dsbm, Progressive metal, gothic metal, Melodic death metal and some metalcore and deathcore. Slaughter to prevail isn't that great, but Demolisher, and this song I personally love out of all their music.

That "accent" on that guitar note you heard, Lex, is what's called a pinch harmonic. The guitar player basically uses their fret hand to touch the string lightly without pressing the string down to the fretboard to create a harmonic tone. Then they sort of wiggle it back and forth lightly still without actually pressing the string down to the fretboard. It's an impressive technique, and pretty much every guitar player who loves metal tries to learn that technique as fast as possible lol. I love this band so freaking much and all of your super positive reacts!

Man it's so cool seeing yall start your metal journey and genuinely enjoying it especially with basically jumping straight into deathcore. I'm not great with all the subgenres in metal but I think yall would like metalcore quite a bit. In my experience metalcore bands seem to have a lot of meaning in their songs as well as sick music where deathcore/death metal a lot of the times will just go for a wow factor and you don't really need to pay as much attention to the message and just jam out to the music. If I could recommend a few songs I'd probably say Rings of Saturn- Senseless Massacre, Brand of Sacrifice- Eclipse, After the Burial- Wolf Amongst Ravens, Parkway Drive- Sleepwalker, Wage War- The River and if you're feeling especially spicy Blasphemian- Infant Annihilator.

I have to credit the classy fellas in Slaughter To Prevail for choosing to eat adults rather than children. MUCH RESPECT. Hahaha... GREAT REACTION. Super badass that Alex "Terrible" himself sought you two out and commented. WITHOUT QUESTION, Alex "Terrible" and the entire band are my top band in 2021 that I hadn't known about before. I haven't found a band this good since Gojira many years ago. Alex "Terrible" is the most charismatic frontman since Phil Anselmo, in my opinion. They have something special. Supreme talent and skill.

Hell yes! Great reaction, good to see Brad beginning to enjoy it more and Lex always rocking out. As for a meaning, The Character "Alex the Terrible" works for the Russian mob as a debt collector, 'cleaner' and enforcer. And the mob calls him Baba Yaga because he eats and feeds to his pet bear, Tim, bodies of non-payers and anyone else who the mob needs to 'disappear'. At least I think. But now you gotta do Slaughter to Prevail's "Agony" and "Chronic Slaughter." Brad will dig the groove in those two.

I just wanna put it out there that, and I may be wrong, however, I was the first person to request Slaughter to Prevail Demolisher, and some people said they weren’t ready for that, yet. Not gonna say I told ya so. I knew they were ready! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Yeah, I've been suggesting STP for a while too, I never thought they weren't ready, STP is heavy, 1 of the heaviest, but they're not as batshit as Infant Annihilator. As long as they don't do lyric videos and just enjoy the musicianship of IA, they'' be fine....
