For those of us who were young adults graduating high school, Skid Row's songs represented who we were so perfectly. This song, I Remember You, there isn't a human on the planet who can't identify with this. Lost love. Sebastian sang it with such feeling that it captivated broken hearts of our generation (mine included) and gave us a way to work through the pain. To this day, the song is so sentimental to me, because of what it meant to me then, and still means to me now.

I agree totally, Skid Row came out when i was at my last year of High School and that song was a huge hit, well, the whole album was a hit that year, with Dr. Feelgood of Motley Crue, Pump by Aerosmith, The Cult with Sonic Temple and also Metallica were still riding on And Justice For All. 1989-1990 was a fantastic last high school year for me.

The homeless guy in the video was mourning for so long it destroyed his life, at the end he is finally able to let her go because hearing the band he realized he forgot about all the great memories they made together and the quality of the love they had. Not everyone in a relationship can say they had both, or even one.

This song was hot back in my high-school days. The meaning is different now that I'm older. I can relate to how the guy walking through town might be longing for days gone by and relationships that are no more. Like life has taken him one way and others a different way. Realizing that certain parts of life are over is painful.

Loved this song since it came out and I’ve never thought it was suggesting that his love had died but that she was simply his one true love that got away. They’ve both moved on but he has always carried a flame in his heart for her. Now years later, he has moved on and part of his moving on is getting rid of all the physical reminders of her. But none of his actions will ever be able to strip away his memories of her and their time together. He will never be free of her memory even as he tries desperately to be.

Technical excellence, soaring, extremely emotive vocals, beautiful melody and flow, gutwrenching lyrics... Put it all together, and you have easily one of the greatest songs ever made. The emotion and power it evokes are indescribable, though I gave it my best shot. The story told through the video very effectively captures the power of the song also. Not often it can be said that a video to a song works so effectively, cohesively with the song.

Sebastian Bach is one of the best rock singers. He has range for days. And the song is about his wife who died. Sleepless nights, every endless day meaning the days and nights were long without her. Skid Row has been a favorite of mine since hearing their self-titled debut album and the “Youth Gone Wild” video on MTV. They came to town as the opening act for Bon Jovi during their “Slippery When Wet” tour, my band mates and I met Sebastian Bach and Rachel Bolan (bass/lyrics) downtown the afternoon before the show after they did an interview at our local rock radio station. They both were very approachable and super cool dudes to meet! Many years later when I was based in Cleveland, OH flying for a regional airline, I was surprised to see the band (with the singer who replaced Sebastian after their falling out and his departure from the band) step out onto the ramp to board our plane for a flight over to South Bend, IN where they had a gig that night. One of my top 10 favorite songs of all-time .. decades later it still brings back the feelings and passions and regrets and lessons of my youth .. I've never interpreted it as her dying, but rather the two of them going their separate ways for one reason or another .. but the love that they shared being so powerful that it stayed in his heart and his memories for his entire life. Great reaction, as always!!

Okay. So just stumbled upon your channel this evening. I’m a sucker for watching people’s reactions to music they don’t know. I’ve watched several of yours...all rock music...stuff I grew up on. You guys are fantastic. Brad, I really enjoy your insight into the lyrics. LEX...when you hear the first guitar, or first lyrics...that smile creeps onto your face and it makes me super excited to visibly watch someone enjoy just the tone like I do. So fun to watch. I saw some vid of your story, but I haven’t watched it yet. But you guys are awesome, and you have a new subscriber. Keep it goin.

As with any song the lyrics could be interpreted in many ways, you can think of it as a break up song and the guy is just remembering the good times he had with his ex. From the video it looks like the guy is living on the streets which could be interpreted as him throwing away his life(drugs perhaps) and that led to the breakup or his life spiraled out of control after the death of a loved one (wife/girlfriend)

I consider myself lucky I'm 63 and I started listening to music when I was about 6 or 7 Thier was only am radio the Beatles and stones just hit america and I just loved music period it did something to my emotions, it could make me feel happy and sad at the same time I ended up learning guitar and have played for about 40 years I got to witness r&b and blues mature and Branch out into so many styles throughout the late 60's and into the 70' and 80's those 3 decades were a magical music journey some of the best times of my life I came across your channel and watched you guys listening to van Halen and Peter Frampton and I could see the joy of music fill your hart's and souls and it really made me feel good to see young people listening to music that helped shape what rock and roll really is, it's seductive it's sad happy and even angry sometimes but most of all it feels good and it's fun 😊 thank you I enjoyed it catch ya on the next one ❤️✌️🇺🇸

1st time watching you guys. Lex you are a star. You all are fun. This was one of my high-school songs. My class listened to metal, rock, hip hop, classic rock and electronic. Good times. So cool watching someone's 1st take.
