One of the reasons why I love your Chanel is cause you dont afraid to custom your figures to make then look better in your way, and even more you teach all collectors how to make them, I custom almost all my figures to make them better at least to my eyes, and thats whats matter, thats my version and Im stick with it!! XD Your videos are awesome keep going all that work!

That would without a doubt make it cost at least another 5 to 10 bucks. Which would price it out of the mass market appeal. Toys at $20 are an easier purchase for parents and kids than toys at $30. Hell even at $30 you dont see wire capes. I wouldnt be surprised if it would make it $40 to $50.

This is the second time I've seen a tutorial from you, Brad. I gotta say, I'm glad you've repeated this tutorial, as it helps me retain the method in which you tuck the cape into the figure. I'm dying to add a custom cape to my Essentials Superman with Gary Frank Chris Reeve headsculpt. I can't remember the specific name for the figure it was, I just remember the gray Kryptonian guard type uniform complete with Pistol belt, based on Gary Frank's story line. I held onto that headsculpt for years, as if it were the Maltese Falcon. I've been waiting to utilize it, and when I saw the other tutorial and realized you were able to fit it onto the neck peg, I did the same and fit a Cyborg Superman left fist onto that Essentials custom. I'm extremely happy with it because I ALWAYS wanted a really good Chris Reeve Superman figure. Now I'm building up courage to make a custom cape completion without messing it up. 😬

It looks nice, but only when he's in a standing pose... This Superman comes with a stand, he's meant for flying/floating poses, and the cape just wouldn't look good in those poses... A wired cape would be the best option for this figure.

This video just saved me a BUTTLOAD of time and nasty final results! Was trying to get my new Thor custom wired cloth cape to fit correctly- trying to figure out how to glue it on. But drilling holes to jam in the thing not only solved the adhesion problem, but allows for gathering it into a really nice "pucker". I take back almost every bad thing I've ever said about you Brad- except the blue hair thing.

Hey brad, loving the channel and i hope to do the cape tuck myself (once i get an adequate replacement) but i have to implore you to go one step further and flip out the ball hinges in the shoulders ; they are in backward on all of the released copies of this figure. I heated and popped them out and flipped so the ball joint taper was on the outside instead of the flat end exposed out of the box, after that Kal's arm articulation was as much smoother and and he poses like a dream with much more articulation and natural look.. spread the word. Stay DC as ever my youtube friend

Serendipitous. I was just about to cannibalize a Bendyfigs super-cape because I wasn't sure if the cape tuck method would work as soon as I noticed how deep the butterfly joints go. I sculpted a head that perfectly mirrors the image the batman figure was meant to be based on and have been doing very well selling the comic batman with the replacement heads and the heads on their own which also fit mezco figures for people wanting something better for their 1/12 justice league batman(their best batman to date minus the head and perfect for grim knight customs), sovereign knight, etc,dc collectible lines(not new essentials), and customs using marvel legends. Anyway it makes the figure so much better as does adding cloth capes. The only thing I can fault the superman and batman figs for now is the legs not being more muscular which goes for McFarlanes animated figures which I've decided I love for what they are instead of what they're supposedly based on. If anyone is interested in custom, professionally painted batman head sculpts for their McFarlane figures that aren't insanely priced(I sell them with first class 3 day shipping included for 20 dollars) just leave a reply to this comment and I'll pass you a link for you to check it out on the McFarlane batman as well as some mezco figures and marvel legend bucks.

@leepicciotto
@leepicciotto 4 жыл бұрын
@@BradTheDCUniverseGeek I had them on eBay but the first run sold out really quickly. I think it's because the sculpt resembles one that people were using for custom grim knights with the justice league mezco Batman that initially sold for 50 bucks but went as high as 150 once it sold out. Plus I'm not greedy or insane selling a painted cast of one of my sculpts for more than the figures they're meant to elevate. I'm painting a batch now and once they're ready and back on eBay I'll respond here and let you know. I sell them for 20 bucks plus shipping, first class usps which usually takes about 3 days and only costs 2-3 bucks based on location. I wish there was a way to insert a pick here.

Thanks for the info. I just did my first mod of any kind on an action figure. I did end up using a 5/64th drill bit and just went REALLY slow. The cape I got off ebay is wired so it took a little effort to get it stuffed into the chest, but it works and it looks so much better. Even has the S on the back now. I kept the peg on the back in case I ever feel like switching back to the rubber cape and the new one hides all the crimes.

The custom cloth capes are all very nice, but I always avoid figures with cloth capes as I think it makes them look cheap, and they're never as nice as these in the video. I purchased the McFarlane Superman, but later regretted it. The 'S' emblem on his chest is far too big, and the cape without a yellow 'S' is just a red bed sheet. Also, I love the San Diego Comic Con Superman. Is he available? I can't seem to find him anywhere.
