Emma where’s your pads? I think it’ll be easier to drop in if you use them. It gives me more confidence knowing I have protection. And if you do fall you can just go to your knees and elbows

Yeah, when I tried droppingin a normal half-pipe(not mini-ramp) for the first time, it happened the same to me as it did with dan in this video because of the street wheels+wrong weight distribution, but since I was using knee pads I barely felt anything. That fall was enough to feel that it wasn't so bad, try for a second time, and nail it. So definitely use knee pads while dropping in. I think that without them I could've injured myself seriously.

That's true, if you watch any recent videos of Tony Hawk bailing a trick on his half pipe he just tosses his board and slides on his knees from like 15 feet. If a 50 year old man walks away just fine from something like that, you'll be alright.

Same, only flat in my skatin days i quite never dropped and i’m 42 . Yesterday i tried to drop a quarter... finally i dropped but i jump away before reaching the flat... and i know it’s a risk thing. Btw i’m bypassing the fear but i dont have to jump away! Big risk for Legs and feet .

It's supposed to be like that, it's padded to get comfortable dropping in on vert.

No, it's not supposed to have huge ripples and edges sticking way up. It's a hazard, especially for newbies trying to "get comfortable". The padding is just laying on top and likely got the way it is now from all the use. They just haven't done anything about it. It really should be fixed.

I am 44 and got back into staking after almost 30 years because my 5.5 year old is really into it. Yesterday I dropped in and my daughter wants to learn sooooo bad but was afraid.. She likes to watch Braille vids and after we saw this one we went out to the park and she did the mini ramp FIRST TRYYYYYY Thanks Emma and Braille. Emma is a great inspiration to young girls

EMMA 💜✊ you don't know how much this is helping me. i'm also a woman but an adult beginner and i'm still so scared of dropping in and ok basically everything but this really helps me feel not so alone. thank you for taking the risk of looking silly to show me i'm not alone and it's actually not that bad.

it's insane how you feel like you are in control of your body but then it's no longer responding to commands! especially when it's something that #1 you know is safe and very doable #2 you really WANT to do and #3 from every outside view seems like not a big deal at all. it really shows you both the limitations and the power of our minds.

Practice dropping in on a 45° angle ramp. Then on the 3 ft, literally put all ur weight forward on ur front foot. Look at the floor a little a bit ahead of you and not at your board. Good luck

Nigel you are a natural teacher. The way you help Emma in conquering the vert just goes to show how great Braille is. The way you sit down with her and make that connection to show that you two are on the same level is just awesome. Everybody in Braille are naturally good people and I am surprised to see how many haters criticize your guys' great work. All I know is that Braille is filled with good, kind people, who only attract other good kind people. Haters hate on Braille because they don't like to see your guys' success because it reminds them of what they don't try to accomplish. Keep doing what you're doing and revolutionize skateboarding.

EMMA rocks! Watching her is like watching myself. I need to get that feel for it sometimes to get a sense of what I'm going to be doing when I'm in the moment of what ever "it" is that I'm doing. That said. Sometimes your gut knows when you're ready before your head. That counts too. ❤️

I totally understand this. My first ever drop in was from about 3 feet and I thought I was going to die! Emma get it gurrrl!!! Can't wait to see you overcome this drop💪

It took me so many falls to be able to do a drop in like that, In one of the attempts out of 20+ tries i ended up knocking myself out and i was out for like 2mins .I woke up to a good amount of the skate park hovering over me. It was scary but i kept at it but after that one fall i borrowed a helmet 🤣. I can do them now but low key it still freaks me out.

I think it's because that extremely creative skater kid. his name escapes me right now but he has the long blonde hair and that custom board. nigel seems really inspired to progress after those videos imo.

Luke Lever Andy is a whole different beast then Carlos. Incredibly creative and ridiculously good but he’s not on carlos’ level tbh.
