Associate Professor Shawn Hingtgen, Ph.D., is leading a team at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, School of Medicine and Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center that is developing a new personalized treatment for glioblastoma. The work, published in the Feb. 1 issue of Science Translational Medicine, describes how human stem cells, made from human skin cells, can hunt down and kill human brain cancer, a critical and monumental step toward clinical trials - and real treatment.
