Күн бұрын

Drakeo The Ruler is an incredibly influential rapper from Los Angeles, who has changed the sound of west coast hip-hop with his unique style of music.
In March of 2018, he was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder. He faced life in prison. Although he was acquitted of his murder and attempted murder charges, the L.A. District attorney refiled charges of criminal gang conspiracy. Drakeo had been serving years of solitary confinement in Los Angeles Men’s Central Jail when suddenly the DA offered him a plea deal. He was released from jail on November 4th, 2020. This is one of the first interviews he did after being freed from incarceration.

This interview really hit me. Hearing Drakeo say he was expecting a little more love is crazy. You can tell that at the core he just wanted peace. Shits crazy, he was trapped in solitary confinement just to come out to hella hate and to sadly meet his demise. Shit really hits different. His story was crazy. Rest In Peace Drakeo 🙏🏽

This actually was a really fucking good interview. The interviewer did a great job asking simple but strong questions in a sense that it influences Drakeo to dwell on his past and open up. He let him speak as well which is very important for the interviewer. On top of that Drakeo was clear in speech and very trusting of the interviewer which led to some good ass responses. This was really quality. Good shit Brake Check! RIP Drakeo I was a big fan of his art.

Wow Drakeo started talking about noticing his OCD tendencies and his anxiety problems in solitary. I was wondering about that with him constantly rearranging all of his shit on the No Jumper podcast. Adam asked him about the stuff on the table in front of him but Drakeo didn’t talk about it. You can tell he feels more comfortable and is able to open up during this interaction.

Pretty much all my homies who are street minded and grew up a certain way would never share about having a mental health disorder or anything like that because it's seen as weakness and they don't want anyone callin them a weirdo and shit. One of the most valid things I learned spending time in the streets that's stood true in my mind years and years after I became aware of it, is that the hardest dude you'll meet in the streets is the ones who are themselves and not afraid to do things different or like different things. The one who immediately comes off as the toughest, punkin people and tryna make it known to everyone around how hard he is, 9 times out of 10 is trying to prove to THEMSELVES how hard they are because they live in fear. The hardest dudes I've ever met are some of the easiest to get along with people (at least in comparison with their peers). They aren't afraid to stand out or move in their own way because they know if anyone tries to punk them it's not gonna go well for that person. Over time people learn not to fuck with those people and they don't have to worry about looking hard cus it's a known thing. I don't have any doubt Drakeo has nothing to prove though, I kind of got off track with that rant lol but I think Drakeo just wasn't tryna label himself with a mental disorder on those podcasts that are gonna air to a demographic that's typically more closed off to talking about that type of thing.

Just got to the part of the podcast where Drakeo talks about the book, "Outwitting The Devil" by Napoleon Hill. He's talks about people who are easily influenced and follow the path laid out by others and that is the perfect example of exactly what I was tryna speak on in my past two comments. Greedo especially strikes me as the furthest thing I can think of from being a "Drifter".

(Why the fuck did I type this lol) everyone’s different and same with anxiety, it can vary person to person and u never now what’s going on inside they’re head but yeah I can see the social anxiety. But it’s obvious that drakeo was being a little more open about himself and didn’t seem like he was acting a certain way to portray himself for the media (like lots of people do when they get interviewed on huge channels) he even brought up how media effects people so much when he was talking about Covid and how most people (or drifters as he called them) are super affected by media just because it’s media and they don’t think for themselves. I have anxiety/panic disorder and have had it since I was really young and TO ME it looked like he was having a little social anxiety when asked certain questions but definitely not anxiety that fucks up every day normal tasks or makes someone do weird things they may not want to do/ they normally wouldn’t do. I’ve seen this interview realistically like 25 times and Drakeo was genuinely happy it seems… something about this interview vs all the other ones he just seemed more engaged or comfortable or something good job!

This is why you are so appreciated Andrew. Your style, your thoughtful questions and your overall demeanor brings out some amazing interviews. The homie gone way too soon. He really was so undervalued. He was a real one. Long live the Drakeo . Such a fuccin loss. This interview hit so different cus he was fresh out that bid and wasn’t even close to adjusted and still was puttin in the work. They tried to take you out the picture, they tried to take you out the streets, you were too fuccin sturdy. Jealousy took you too fuccin early. You forever a legend and will be missed Much love and respect.

It's crazy that people aren't dying in Central because they were dropping like flies in San Quentin last year, they transferred a couple people from a different facility and one of em had it, shit spread and killed like 30 sum people.
