This riffs was one of the first I 'figured out' as a kid. There's a variation of it everywhere, Pink Panther, TV commercials, spy spoof movies. Nice to know where it originally came from. Your explanations of music history are as much fun as the lessons.

One of the best ever compilation albums I ever owned was a free cassette that came with Q magazine in the 1980s. This was one of the tracks on it and I played the tape to death!

The swedish 60s band Hep Stars had a big hit here in Sweden with the song. With Benny Anderson (ABBA) on keyboard. You can find live videos on KZfaq.

Vince Taylor went to Paris to get the bands pay from the manager and spent it on LSD then went insane. He bumped into the then David Jones in London and preceeded to pull out a map to show Bowie where the spiders from Mars would land. Taylor was Ziggy.

There’s a really great film of Joe Moretti playing live with Gene Vincent in Italy in 1960, Bluejean Bop and Sexy Ways. I think Joe Moretti is playing a Gibson through a nice Vox amp. Looks like they are both really enjoying themselves!

Good day dear boy ..love the guitar lessons especially the play like Wilko one .....any way what I wanted to say was that some 30 odd years ago I picked up joe moretti from outside the abbey rd studios.....to cut a long storey short we got to talking about shakin all over and brand new Cadillac and in his Scottish accent he told me that he may have been using a grimshaw guitar (he thought that joe brown or big Jim Sullivan had given to him to use) played through a vox ac10or 15......hope this is some use to you
