Overpriced for the performance it offers. ~$50k more than the 259 and the 259 can do everything the 299 can do just does it a little bit slower.

Debris Management Kit 1 is what’s it’s called. But it’s more than just that guard. The kit comes with stuff for all over the machine.

I think it’s around $5k with install. That’s the bumper and the brush guard. The bumper is welded on and the entire package balances the machine a lot better than a counterweight setup.

@@TheTreeShop I'm just saying I wish cat would put xps in these ones. I have a 299d3xe a 289d3 and three 257d but the machine I want is a 257 or 259 with xps. It would be the best ever machine

I agree. Once I delete this one I will be jumping into the hydraulic side and learning how to make it more productive. Thankfully mulching heads have come a long way in the last few years but more power is always a good thing

I honestly think the difference in price between the 289 and the 299 doesn't add up to the performance between them but the 299 is nicer to operate. I've no idea why really but it just is. But prefer the 257 as they much more nippy and smooth to operate

259D3 is 74hp with no def 299D3LM is 110hp with def The increase in production from 259 to 299 is not enough to warrant the $140k the 299 cost as well as the increase in operating expense. Just spend an extra hour on site and bust it out with the 259. I will get a larger machine but the 299 is not purpose built enough for me. Tonight’s video that drops at 6 addresses some of those issues with the machines we look at.

@@TheTreeShop Yes that is a fair point you have to take in, but 140k? didnt relise it got up to that much, That makes alot more sense. Maybe its just me but compared to other loaders with its horsepower the 259d looks alot smaller espically in person.

Yes it is the largest engine in the small frame tracked skid steers.

We run 259s only!!! its just our preferance easy to pull with a 550 superduty utility body bumper pull. We ain't fancy like the J man we are old school 7.3 powerstroke.

@@jimemmons5529 yea, can totally see why now everyone likes them as they are quite compact, haven’t put more then around 25 hours in a 259d so can’t really say much about them. I prefer bobcats t66 for regular jobs or my t770 for the mulching ones as it goes by pretty quick, also I pull with a F350 with a 6.7 and works amazing
