By the way, the point of no return for the Institute is the Mass Fusion quest (started but not progressed), and this is after the Battle of Bunker Hill (you can do battle of bunker hill just let them shoot each other, run around and loot). Progressing Mass Fusion will make you enemies with BoS. You just need to side with father when talking to hm on the roof of CIT after the battle (assuming you killed X6-88 to free the synths - this makes you cool with RR).

To get the ending where three factions servive. Don't do old guns for the minute men. Don't talk to pam after you get ballistic weave. Don't do show no mercy for the brother hood. Completing these missions triggers them to become more aggressive triggering war between them.

There is an alternate ending where only rhe institute is destroyed and the three remaining factions are at peace. This ending is very easy to mess up. I have put un 14,000 hrs into this game. Tryed to get this ending at least a 9 times and failed each time. Every time i failed it was because of a rng events. Will get it though.

Brian…Bunker Hill you want to complete for the institute. Keep your Courser alive. NOW, its a free for all. you can “accidentally” lol kill the synth soldiers since they got in the way of killing Railroad and BoS. kill everyone…it is the one mission you can kill everyone except the Bunker Hill people and vendors/guards. Kill Kill Kill…you can loot the shite out of the place when done. circle the outside, shoot vertibirds, brotherhood, synths, and railroad. Do Not. kill your courser. To remain friendly, once the slaughter is done outside and in the undergound, let the courser take the 4synths . You will remain friendly with everyone, only the insitute cares about the outcome.

2:34:10 "So many companions seem like they are hidden, off the beaten path." And yet, you get quests and side missions to find every one of them. NONE of them are hidden. If your plan is to rush through the game by focusing only on the main quest lines, yeah, you'll miss most of the companions. That's what you did the first time. Can't miss Codsworth, Dogmeat, Preston, Piper, Nick, or Danse because they are on the main questline, but you can miss all the rest. This time you've done more side quests so you met Curie, Cait, MacCready, Hancock, Deacon, and X6-88. You haven't met Ada, Longfellow, or Porter, but they are all main questline for 3 DLCs so you really can't miss them if you do the DLCs. You have had the Combat Zone quest in your journal since you first visited Diamond City, and you were only 100 feet away from it when you went looking for Nick and also when you walked the Freedom Trail - can't really blame the game for "hiding" Cait when they sent you right to it.

There's no way I would take out the brotherhood of steel.

Use Curie as a companion and you can turn her into a cute little human-like synth and "romance" her. I know you like robot sex from your first playthrough in Far Harbor... so now you can go for it with a "human" robot. There is no need to completely kill all factions but one. If you destroy the Institute using the Minutemen you can have RR and BOS continue and still "belong" to both groups as well as leading the Minutemen and Commonwealth settlers to prosperity and peace. BOS and RR won't like each other, but they won't officially be at war either. As long as you don't have them attacking each other. No hostile occupation forces and no unnecessary civilian slaughters. Don't do missions for Proctor Teagan stealing settler food and don't side with the raiders in Nuka World. Of course killing all the other factions, except your own seems to appeal to most players. Wholesale slaughter is so much fun.

This idea that the minutemen only take out the institute is wrong they also do not want the BOS in the commonwealth and I can't blame them for that since they raid your settlements. After destroying the institute with the minutemen wait a few days and talk to Preston and then you can take out the BOS it's why you have artillery after all and it should be in every settlement and will be aimed at the Prydwen. After the battle for Bunker Hill it can become one of your settlements and the BOS will constantly attack it and your people. While the game makes the story about you and factions it's really about what's morally right for the people of the commonwealth who trust you. If you stand with the institute diamond city will have a synth army presence and synths will be at checkpoints across the map the same will happen with the BOS either choice is not good for anyone. If you stand with the minutemen who are the people's militia they will patrol diamond city and the checkpoints. You need to build up the castle and sanctuary as both will be attacked, the castle needs defences badly build laser turrets and put them on the wall, there are several missions about defending the castle and you also need to give armor to the people at the castle as they can die. P.S. turn radio freedom back on you need it.

A Minutemen victory doesn't make sense. Sturges goes from a guy that tinkers and can't hack a novice terminal to being able to build a teleporter and hack Institute encryption.
