Reporting in after my first week with the boat (and my first ever RC boat). This thing is fantastic, had a few accidents that made me sad though, my own doing. First while still getting used to its controls / steering trim - I crashed it head (bow) first into a wooden dock. Unfortunately it was at a good rate of speed and actually split the front right side of the bow from the nose then back about 4-5". Luckily I'd bought the Dynamite marine tape and am happy to report that a careful patch job enabled it to work the rest of the week and not instantly take on a bunch of water. I'm happy to see that I can buy a new hull from Horizon to fix this - but the gut punch given its price (especially after converting to CAD and import/duties into Canada) was a downer for a day. Second, I fully recommend taping down the black rubber antenna tube as the manual mentions - it normally just slides in with a decent fit, but I think at some point when it snuck under a dock again I lost that covering. I tried to baby the raw antenna (taped around the hole on the boat) and it behaved nicely the rest of the week - on the hunt for a replacement part. Third, I also fully recommend the included velcro adhesive strips. The single strap isn't enough after some high G turns as waves flip it around, one of my batteries got a little dinged up externally - but electrical tape and some testing / bulge inspection seem to show its alright. I also had the 5000 hard case 3S from spektrum which worked great (also velcro'd in). Thanks Nate as well for the S155 charger recommendation, much nicer then the little USB C one, and charged my BIL's spektrum batteries for his plane :). Overall, a wonderful recommendation - definitely learned some lessons as a newbie to RC's, but will know better on the next vehicle. A good video topic perhaps "what damage/breaks have we had over a decade of RC?" - What have you had to replace, what was your most crushing dent and did you fix it or was it ultimately a write off?" Thanks for all you guys do!

Great video. It will run on 4s plus there are 4 slots on the battery hold downs hidden under the foam pad. I cut them open and added two more straps for added protection.

My first thought was that very much resembles the UDI Arrow in terms of the Hull and the Hatch design. No surprise if that is the case, the lower end more entry level products often share basic hardware. Good little boat for a choppy day.

My brandnew Proboat Recoil 2 Shreddy broke after 1 or 2 minutes of sending it on 4s Only my steering was working but no throttle. Is it also normal that their is a delay for like 0,5 second when you pull the throttle I do 12yrs or Rc cars. But boats are new for me. Do you know what could be the problem that destroyed my esc?

Nice.....word of warning ....don't use too much velcro on the batteries....pulling them in and out alot will Crack your plastic hull. Battery gets hot and weakens the hull. Enjoy!

That is a sweet boat. The website does offer upgrade charger and transmitter. But looks like a great starter kit for boats. I have trucks and buggies but have been doing more water sports and maybe time to look at an RC boat

That is impressive even for Proboat. I have been wanting the Sonicwake for a long time for the self righting feature. This one looks a lot better put together with no cavities in the hull and seems to handle better than the Sonicwake. Maybe ill have to add the Recoil 2 to the list. I have to ask though, if you could only have either the Sonicwake or the Recoil 2, which would you get and what makes you prefer that choice. I'll be able to get both in due time, just curious which i should get first.

Love it!! Love your videos!! Talked me into a senton a while back lol. Now you have turned me to the boating life!! This thing is it!!! I almost squeezed the trigger on the Arrow but now im going with the recoil 2!!! Im a spektrum fanboy lol. So its an easy decision. I was debating on the sonicwake v2 because of the spektrum insides and the build quality. But the size was my catch. I travel alot for work. With the 2 1/10 scales and parts, im slim on room. This works perfectly for me. My question is what run time average did you get with the supplied battery? Wondering if I should get more that size or use the 5000 packs I already have a few of.
