Seiko has just announced 3 new GMT watches from the Seiko 5 Field Collection and here is everything you need to know about them.
There is the stainless steel version on an ingénieur bracelet, the SSK023 and the black PVD coated on a nato, the SSK025.
There is a white dial version which is only available for the Japanese market.

Disappoint? Seiko has absolutely killed the budget watch game this year with the seiko 5 and alpinist gmt. Not to mention their reissues.

agree, I think people who say "it's rubbish because at that price it should have sapphire" like that are very hypocritical and sad because these will buy the exact same model (homage) just because it has "sapphire" in it.

Thanks for this New release of Seiko. The full stainless Steel IS really stunning!!! In hurry to follow a full review of this New Time Keeper!!! When will they put saphir cristal on all there models and full stainless Steel bracelets for the Price?

I really like this watch, but willing to wait the 2 years or so for it to get under the 300 dollar mark before picking one up. The dials remind me of my SRPG29, which is great, but I just hope they do better on the lume. I haven't picked up one of these GMT 4r34/NH34 yet, and this could be the one.

The only reasons these will disappoint will be the usual naff bracelets and non sapphire crystal. I do wish Seiko stepped up the specs as they would kill the competition if they did so.

Are you sure about the hollow end links? The seiko 5 GMT dive watch has a solid end links with the updated bracelet. I assume as this GMT has a new style bracelet it would also have solid end links.

Actually no I'm not certain. I have the previous 5 GMT but I can't recall if it had hollow end links, I could swear it did! I guess I'll have to go check my own video 😂

At first glance, erm no thanks, I have a San Martin sn0116 with the same movement, sapphire, better finishing and 1mm thinner for much less money. Then I saw the white dial 😎 why do they keep the best for Japan? Happy Christmas 😁

Not sure I understand the concept of a GMT field watch. There’s no need for these to be so thick…hardlex…pressed clasp and endlinks…cheap’d out for a not exactly cheap price. A bit meh tbh, but that’s the Seiko way these days.

Yep, hardlex, pressed clasp, cheap bracelet, bad qc, not a good movement, and below average lume. All for $600 Canadian. But yet Seiko DOMINATES the lower price point of watches? Seiko now is one brand where you get terrible value for your money.

Yoyeux noël Olivier! As for these watches, unsurprisingly just regular Seiko 5 stuff, which means Hardlex, pressed end links & clasp.... so it's not for me.

Will it disappoint, yes. Will it matter, no. Seiko could literally put a pile of poop in a white box and offer it for $1200. The fan boys would buy it.

The numerals shouldn't be lumed, just like the non-GMT model that I own, and I'll bet the crown isn't screw-down too. Seiko does not give screw-down crowns for 100M watches, unlike Orient.

That tolerance of time keeping is Garbage. I have 4 Citizen watches all Eco-Drive. All of them hold within 1 minute of accuracy for a 3 month period. I base that off my computer time. And best of all no winding as the Eco drive works for about 20 years. Paid between 300 - 500 ......... had Seiko before and would never go back.

It's just a push crown. They are too expensive even at £350 and to thick. The specs are too poor with a press clasp and pins and mineral crystal. They don't even look good. I have a lot of seikos and used to rate them. No I don't want to see them thank you!
