Without a doubt, these are the best trains on the network from a view of serving their intended purpose extremely well. Well done Merseyrail.

Those platform gap fillers slash automatic ramps make my wheelchair so happy to see! Can’t wait for when they’re standard across the whole country. I do wonder if they’ve consulted with colourblind people about those door lights, eg tuning the shades to at least appear brighter/dimmer. Either way the illumination draws attention for easy boarding and warning even if it was all white or yellow! This design is so complete, I can’t help but hope other regions will order some. These look like they’d be perfect for the service around Glasgow for example. Merseyrail have done a great job, it looks like the consultations were taken seriously, and it’s a testament to regionally-owned services tbh.

I don't think I've been on a train where everyone is talking about how much they like so much of it. Going on a 508 straight after this felt soo slow, but I agree, they seem fairly impressive bits of kit!

Just finished work and wondered who would get the first video up for these. Nice one but as Northerns WiFi is patchy on my journey home I'll defer watching until later. As an aside I was on the farewell to 503s tour and feel decidedly old now that the replacements are being phased out.

Nice to see other people including CyberTrains. But no Geoff Marshall or GlovesTrains. The Class 777 trains are very nice trains. Perhaps it’s time to say goodbye to the Class 507 and Class 508 PEPs and thanks for serving Merseyside and Liverpool for over 40 years.

I went to an open day with them trains at Southport. They are really advanced and im looking forward to riding them for the first time in a few weeks! But nothing can beat a 507/8!

Excellent coverage of the entry into service of the Class 777 Jen and, thank goodness, apart from one mention, the Metro Mayor didn't get a look in...... it is all about the trains and the real people who use them. Well done. We should look at a "Jen caught on the Move" on one of my West Midlands Metro videos where you "happen to be on board" like you were when you met my daughter Sarah on the Edgbaston opening! Keep up the good work. I love watching your presentations.

I found out on yesterday’s trip that the doors work the same way as the Manchester Metrolink Trams, as in if you press the door open button before the doors are released, it will set that door to open as soon as they are released by the driver. The door LED lights go white as well.

It feels like only yesterday some of the units were on static display at the depot. Rather an impressive transformation from the old PEPs. Hopefully they get the send off they deserve

The bike spaces are great! they remind me of the fully sized spaces Connex fitted to their 508s in the late 90s - it's taken a while but we've come full circle!

Where I live were getting new trains this year. The class 720s

I've not seen one of these units yet, I think one of only 2 classes in mainline service I haven't spotted (the other being the 318s). I've only done probably over half of the Wirral Line, and none of the Northern Line on my merseyside journeys. I wonder how similar these are to the new 555s due later this year to replace the old metrocars on Wearside (I know they have different seats, but still).

Great video, and nice to see! At 2:13, was the first person actually on the train, a baby (who probably won't remember anyway?!) I like the green/red LEDs around the doors, and I know it's more a culture thing, but lots of people (including my eldest kid) are red/green colourblind - did you notice at all if the red flashes as a closure warning? At least there's the sound too! Thanks again!

I think they should wire from Chester to Altrincham with 750v DC (passive provision to change to 25kv AC later) overhead and fit pantographs on these to make them dual mode current collection.... Extend the wirral line to Knutsford .... And run tram trains from Altrincham (platform 2) to Northwich or even all the way to Chester

I am blind and I was asked by the politicians to advise on accessibility. I haven’t been on the new trains so I was wondering if you could tell me if they’ve implemented these? I advised that the announcements should say which sides the doors open and where the bumps are in the floor if sone tactile strips could be put either side of them so we have a warning where they are.

I feel old - I can remember the 502s and 503s from before the 507s and 508s came in!

These are the cars that you can actually button open the doors without driver or conductor opening them for you. (Like the other National Rail sister systems down South and in the Midlands and Wales)

The metro-mayor is wanting to extend the Merseyrail battery hybrid metro trains from Liverpool to: Preston, Warrington, Wrexham, and Helsby. And hopefully to Wigan (and maybe to Skelmersdale) via Kirby. He also want to run right into both stations at Runcorn.

The word M stands for Merseyrail happens to be in the northwest of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. They will replace the old ageing trains 🚆 made dated back to the 1970s. Inside the class 777s, it is nice 👌 and warm inside. Very smooth journey to happen. All standard class accommodation only. Non- smoking 🚭 accommodation and people can sit anywhere they like 👍. The seats 💺 are cosy, comfortable and passengers feel happy 😃 about it. 😄

I liked the train familiarisation style video(s) they've put out on their official channel, "Merseyrail Electrics". A name, that puzzles me tbh. I have heard about the Wessex Electrics, and if one were to follow that naming example more strictly, _Merseyside Electrics_ would be more consistent. Or _Mersey Electrics_ even. Which could actually be merged into *Merseylectrics* (or _Merselectrics_) 😮💡 What du you think?

2.00 "Jen points at a 777"...

These are the trains that South Western Railway SHOULD have bought instead of the disastrous new trains that (for the most part) STILL aren't running.....despite the fact they should have entered service there and a half years ago! Most apparently are sitting idle at a depot in Marchwood (near Southampton). Endless technical issues have plagued them since the planned introduction back in 2019. And drivers have repeatedly said the new trains aren't safe to drive. SWR deny that drivers have ever said this. But then this kind of attitude is fairly typical of SWR. I say, to SWR - cut your losses and scrap the lot of them. And buy the 777 train instead. Never ridden one and may not as I don't live in Liverpool, but they already (from this video) look better than the awful new (non running) trains SWR have wasted tens of millions of pounds on. We used to have the 707's - but in their wisdom, SWR sold nearly all of them to Southeastern. They 'believed' that the new trains they wanted to run on the network were better than the 707's. These were introduced by South West Trains (or SWT) just before they unbelievably lost the franchise to the current operator SWR. To say the service from SWR is not good at all would be an understatement. It's appalling. And I for one, hope that when the franchise for operating trains out of London Waterloo comes up for renewal again, that SWR lose it. They deserve to. Poor use of money from inept managers has turned what was a very good service into an awful. It's now patchy and unreliable.
