2024, 38 years old, and im instantly transported back to high school 😪

I am still lowkey Emo in my 30s, but it's... The quiet things that no one ever knows.

I was in high school, had a class with this kid Corey Siebert. Him and some others from school had a band. They used to cover this song during the talent shows and the friday concerts at school. Than he came down with leukemia while we were still in school. Eventually it got the best of him and he passed before we graduated. Super cool, nice and outgoing dude. They always say the good die young. Damn was that true. Now everytime I hear this it reminds me of him. R.I.P. Corey, your still missed buddy.

Brand New is one of those bands that make me feel feelings I don't want to feel.

I'm 32 and my brother, Phillip, introduced me to them when I was 15. Phillip died in 2006 and I miss him all the time.They're still my favorite band. Listening to their old songs brings back amazing memories with him, being young and carless, that moment in your life where you feel invincible. Every time they release something new, there's this bittersweet feeling; I love listening to them progress and I wonder what he would think of the album or song. I think he would have loved The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me. The song, "Brother's" always makes me think of him. He was about to go into the military when he died. I really appreciate it's anti-war message-- "Just a few mother's sons will never really be enough/Not till half of our names are etched out in a wall/And the other half ruined by the things we saw " I'd do just about anything to see them live, to tell them what they mean to me, that it goes back to losing someone I love, and that I'll never stop listening.

it’s 2023 and i’m still watching this. after all this time, all the bad news, all the things that have happened, i still can’t get over this band. i love their music. over a decade now, my first favorite band.

I spent my first night in Foster care the first time I heard this. Band new got me through alot when all I wanted was my mom.

Turned 40 and this track makes me feel young again. The lyrics mean something different today than it did in the past. I think of all the Quiet moments that I have let past or wish I said when i had the chance and now gone. I feel the screams of this song as how I feel and wish I can scream into the past to change those wasted moments.

This is my neighbours' favourite song, whether they like it or not. I even had one neighbour throw a brick through my window. I can only assume so that they could hear it better...

I found this song playing on NHL 2004. One of my favorite games and I still play it. This plays when you win the Stanley Cup at the end. Used to play with my best friend and he always picked this song to play during the menu screen.

I need someone with their 30's right around the corner like myself to be down to feeling nostalgic and makeout to this song like the old days. That's fucking "relationship goals."

This album made High School and being 18 seem so much cooler then it was.

Out of all of the music that came from the Emo Era, Brand New's music withstands the test of time. This song is still great.

Always will hold this song dearly, something about it just makes it so haunting..and everytime I hear it I start to feel okay yet so sad at the same time.

i just ended my freshman year of high school and going into sophomore year. this band already means so much and are easily my favorite band and i’m so thankful my mom introduced me to them as they have changed the way i read lyrics and hear music. so young i hope to create memories with these songs like you guys have. I remember sitting on the couch in the summer watching MTV with my brother for 4 hours, just to hear this song one time on TRL. Big screen projection TV cranked, surround sound speakers hardwired on the wall. Gosh, great times.

Its 2020 and this July my buddy will have drowned 12 years ago. I know it's not the same message...but when 2:37ish hits---i do everything I can to not picture him alone and still in deep dark water.... it's been that way everytime I've heard this song for the passed 12 years...and probably for the rest of my life...thanks for reading. This has so many feels and passion behind it. For me it’s there with Yellowcards “Only One “ and basically every song by The Used. Almost too much emotion, but I love it. I love it so much.

One thing I really appreciate about many bands of this era -- Brand New, Blindside, Underoath, mewithoutYou -- is that they named their songs with a lot of originality. Ironically, this is an exception (because they actually say the songs name in the lyrics) but since the name of this song is also about a profound concept, that can be overlooked without invalidating my point. Just take a look at the song names in the discography of these bands and you'll know what I mean, e.g. "A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White" is just one of the many, many examples.

I saw Senses Fail once, they played this while they were setting up. I swear the crowd was more excited to hear this than the 3 opening bands.

I can't sing to save my life but I love nothing more than belting this out in the car to myself. I feel like a new person at the end, so much release of emotion. Happiness, sadness, anger. All of them.

Every day for lunch I lived across the street from my High School. I would come in, turn the tube on Fuse and this song would play at the exact same time every day. I would blast it, sing along and cry into my hot pockets.

10-04-2019 woke up with this song in my head. I’m 30 now 😭 made me feel young for a while again.

NHL 2004 changed my life. This song band and album are my all time favorites. How can u go against Brand New's creativity? Scary thing is they're prob one of the most underrated bands in our generation, people who haven't listened to them are missing out. I use to play this album at work and people thought it was too hardcore...sad really...u wanna hear hardcore music? lol

2012. I remember getting my parents to drive to my first weed plugs house at 15 before going to Costco saying I was gonna pick up some stuff. I met this local dude on eBay selling metal patches. That was maybe my second time picking up and less than 10th time smoking. I hotboxed the car and just used the air freshener, I’m sure it still danked but my parents said nothing. Played this song on my iPod at the dark Costco parking lot. Will always cherish that memory when times were a lot simpler.

MTV2 use to have this show called Control Freak where viewers would vote for their favorite videos they would want to see on air and the one with the highest percentage would then be the one that would follow after the current video that was on. That was the first time I heard this song and it was AWESOME!! I was like that's quite a title for a music video. Pretty lengthy lol. I was still relatively new when I got into this sort of music but man it was just the best, Miss the early 2000s with a PASSION!! Oh and I just gotta say. I LOVE HOW THE INSTRUMENTAL SOUNDS AT 2:12. I asked myself when I was young HOW THEY MAKE IT SOUND SO AWESOME LIKE THAT?!? My young ears found enjoyment at a young age :D

I absolutely love this video. The nineties filter of green. The concept/plot of the guy, girl, and hospital. How it begins with this guy just un-ironically hunching over his guitar well playing it. Then how the spotlight of the camera switches to the guy with the hat that makes him look unconventionally douchey. The part where they all scream the chorus but the only pans to certain angles rarely regular ones.

I use to be a little too fond of the bottle and I still get scared when I listen to Brandnew cause I don’t of the wild emotions they bring out. Especially looking back, Jesus I’m lucky to be here to type this shit out.
