@@DominicRogers-gs1fm well said lol. He doesn’t know what it means to blow lead (sic). Herbert dominates games more often than not and struggles at times in second halves because Staley and his staff more than likely didn’t prepare enough. In-game coaching proficiency is very positively correlated to the ability to adjust to adjustments.

I’m a Hardcore Chargers fan, and it’s sad to say the person whom everyone should point the finger to is the inept ownership. For allowing this franchise to be mediocre year in and year out.

Care to explain why teams keep hiring McDaniels and Hackett? How Kliff Kingsbury got an NFL HEAD COACHING job after going 35-40 at Texas Tech? In other news: Talks of firing Mike Tomlin have ramped up over the past two seasons while never having a losing season and a Super Bowl ring. Lol

I'm not sure how this can be spun as a race issue. Both Anthony Lynn and Brandon Staley were provided long leashes by Chargers ownership. Let's not act like Anthony Lynn didn't deserve to be fired, he should have been fired mid-season like Staley his final year as coach, but Spanos let him finish out the year and his contract. I don't think it was unfair to Anthony Lynn to be fired, he needed to go. It's not like he was fired too early. The fact is Lynn was terrible at situational football and cost us games because of his bad game and clock management, that's why he was fired. He too had a long leash like Staley. Let's not pretend that he didn't. I believe the reason Staley got another year was because the fanbase and Spanos liked his aggressiveness despite his criticisms when it didn't pan out. Norv Turner, Mike McCoy, and Anthony Lynn were all very conservative coaches, which cost us games, and Staley was the direct opposite, so it was seen as preferable to lose being aggressive than being conservative. I think that's why he was allowed another year. And let's not pretend that Staley didn't know how to speak well, his entire rapport-building approach to communication won over ownership and the fanbase which afforded him to get the job despite his inexperience. That's another reason why he got another year, he made it sound like there was potential for things to change. He talked his way into the job and into keeping it, meanwhile the players regressed as a result of poor individual coaching. These reasons have more to do with him staying than him being a white guy.

Well at least Anthony Lynn did go 12-4 once which would have won any of the other AFC divisions (the Chiefs just so happened to also go 12-4) IMO his 2017 team really belonged in the playoffs over the Bills. They finished with the same record but the Chargers destroyed the Bills Head to Head I believe during the span from weeks 5 - 2017 season thur the end of 2018, this was pretty much the best Charger team since LT departed after 2009 And that span was coached by Anthony Lynn. We also beat some tough teams during that span, Cowboys, Seahawks, Chiefs, Steelers, Ravens So I can see why after Anthony Lynn had a bad season, why they were willing to give him one more year
@Swaguley
@Swaguley 8 ай бұрын
@@djcavity6844 I agree that the team did well that year in 2018. It was stupid that that team only got a wildcard spot. The only difference that year compared to others was that we were at least winning the one score games, although we were still in one score games every time no matter the talent level of the other team. Then Anthony Lynn and Telesco decided to get rid of good players like Desmond King and Adrian Phillips which made the team worse the following season. I do think the roster and especially defense that Telesco and Staley paid for this year are very overrated, such as Bosa and Ekeler. Some of that could be due to poor individual coaching causing different players to regress like Derwin and Asante.

Stop with the race card bull, Stephen A.. Anthony Lynn had 4 seasons with us and much like the other coaches before him like Norv Turner and Mike McCoy, those 3 coaches COULDN'T get ANYTHING done and wasted the years of our prime players like LT, Gates, and Rivers. The latter of which ended his tenure with the Chargers with a RB coach turned HC in Lynn...you figure that one out. Brandon Staley had a stacked roster and STILL couldn't get anything done, and wasted Herbert's rookie contract, now the teams is gonna pay him next season. Staley had the chance to get it right for 2 and a half seasons and couldn't do it, and it all came to a head on Thursday night against the Raiders. His firing was warranted.

Anthony Lynn went 5-11 in his 3rd season and got to keep his job for an entire 4th season, while Staley got fired in the middle of his 3rd season with a record of 5-9. Quit making shit about race when it has absolutely nothing to do with it. This is only the 2nd time in the history of the Chargers that they’ve fired a coach mid season and both coaches were white men. The Chargers also don’t usually fire coaches before their 4th season, but the last time it happened was Mike Riley after a record of 14-34. Mike Riley is also a white man.
