I literally sold my X3 specifically to buy a new x4. But I don’t like it; the quality is terrible in dark places. I think I'll take the Osmo Pocket unfortunately. The iPhone takes better pictures than this x4. UNFORTUNATELY!

Buyer beware on all these videos - this is KZfaqr influencer at its HIGHEST - the embargo has lifted - there are 50 videos out there about this "ACTION CAMERA" - and what NONE OF THEM TELL YOU - is that these lenses are DELICATE - like you WILL SCRATCH the lens in snow - or on a bike trail - or a dropping it on a table - and then - it will cost (at least it did on previous models) $99 to fix it - or all your footage will have a smudge from the scratch. Also - you have to write an email to them explaining it - then wait 4 weeks for a reply - then fill out a form and pay the $99 plus shipping - to CHINA - then - wait another 4 weeks - until you get our camera back.....ALL of these videos got a FREE camera - and then went snowboarding - and if they had to pay $500 for the camera - then another $99 if they dropped it in the snow - which WILL scratch it - they would not use it. The lens guards dont work - in fact I had one scratch my actual lens when the camera hit the ground while not even snowboarding - SLEDDING on a bunny hill! BUYER BEWARE! These are just commercials for free cameras given to influencers.

26 - The cost of a repair lens is $99 since it WILL SCRATCH if you touch it on ANYTHING 27 - $99 was the cost of the repair for the X2 - so its probably much more expensive now! 28 - The turnaround time to get the lens repair is over 8+ weeks if they get back to you in a timely fashion (which they won't) 29 - The lens guards severely degrade the footage and effect the stitch - hence why no finluencer actually shows using them - so again back to no 26 - you will SCRATCH THE LENSES! I can keep going if you like - I have spent over $700 on ONE of these cameras and had to go through the repair process 3 TIMES - I finally GAVE UP ON USING THEM! Stop LYING to people and calling these things action cameras - they are just as fragile and there fore - not as versatile as they claim - as any other camera - even more so with these lenses!

I'm totally fascinated by how coordinated such a marketing campaign unfolds. I experienced it for the first time today. To the second, all the well-known KZfaqrs release their videos about the X4. It's pretty crazy.

Not that crazy . They send new cameras to popular KZfaqrs to test out for weeks sometimes. There is an embargo so you can’t post anything about until the company says so. Everybody uploads the video and makes it public ones the embargo is up .

@@whatwelearnedI think we just need to be honest and say that my iPhone 15 pro max spanks this on a handheld device for video quality. But the creativity of shots and ability to just record and forget about it and capture all the action around it makes this pretty badass.

How's the low light performance? Is the RS One a better choice for low light? X4 has a wider Aperture, I wonder if that will make a difference vs the one inch sensor. Amazing footage as always!

Hi Brandon . Love your videos on gimbals and such like. I am filming a few marching bands and can not use a drone as its centre of a city and wondered if buying an Insta x4 would be a good option to make drone type shots and some cool action shots together to complement the other shots on the Sony a7s iii ?

X4 is a great drone replacement. Use extended edition selfie stick and maybe even another extension rod under that.

X4 in my opinion. You can use single lens mode for a gopro - type usage. Use lens guards for rough shoots.

You won’t want to use it in very low light unless you’re doing timelapse (which is 11k). The sunset shots I did in this video are the lowest light I would recommend using it for.

are you shoowing in manual or Auto? I tent to shoot manual at iso 100 with -0.3 but wondering if i should just select auto with auto ISO to 400 and call it the day. Love this camera.

I mostly shot in auto at minimum ISO. It does a great job at auto exposure in daylight conditions.

In bright light with not too much motion, you will be able to remove most distortion and use a narrower field of view. Just depends on the shot.

@@BrandonLiUnscripted Thank you Brandon. I expected a definitive answer but this makes sense. With more noise more pixels are needed for a good result. So I expect that it can be a yes for good lighting landscapes and maybe not for indoors. Worth it a consideration.

If they improve the low light like the Dji pocket 3 then I’m in but if still suffers in low light probably the X5 or X6 is my next 360..

It’s a matter of physics I think…to keep the camera small, the sensor and lenses can’t get bigger. So there’s limits to how good the lowlight can be. Probably we will need to wait for an upgrade to the 1” 360 camera to get better low light.

Overall, X4. X4 is better for bright light, action, underwater, slow motion. Has less stitching issues. 1 inch is a bit better for lower light.

In some shots it does a poor job of "hiding" the selfie stick. And if it can do 120fps in Bullet Time at 5.7k, why can't it do slo-mo at 120fps in 5.7k?

I have the X3 360, used it on the first snorkeling trip with the whale sharks. A couple of weeks ago in the Maldives and the bloody thing leaked water and now it's completely dead. Rubined the whole rest of getting video for any of the trip including with the sharks come in the turtles, several scuba dives etc. I think it's a piece of crap.
