What separates the Brane X portable speaker from the pack is that it is the first to incorporate a built-in subwoofer. Brane Audio claims that it can produce 10 times the sub-bass of other speakers in its class. Is that really the case?
The Brane X is built on new driver technology that breaks the most important law of audio, Hofmann’s Iron Law. Hofmann’s Iron Law states that you can have two, but not all three, of the following in a speaker: low bass, a small size, and efficiency.
All other speakers on the market today have to give up one. Most commercial portable speakers today compromise on low bass so that they can market something small and wireless.
In addition to the inclusion of a subwoofer, the Brane X includes features you would expect from a smart speaker: stereo sound, waterproofing, 12-hour battery life, Alexa integration, adjustable EQ, and free control app.

Heard a demo in Austin, Texas - it's a game changer. I heard the demo and then inspected the whole room because I was sure they were hiding a sub. It's awesome - still can't believe what I heard. I ordered one on the spot. And it's waterproof?!!!! It's ridiculous!

I really doubt that demo was done in an honest way. One of my parents was there and bought the speaker for me, and it was a real disappointment. It apparently blew the UE Hyperboom out of the water in that demo, but there’s no way my personal unit sounds even remotely as good as the Hyperboom.

@@djijspeakerguy4628your one of the few that seems to have an actual one. Im wondering how it does in an outdoor setting, comparing vs like the Soundcore Boom 2 or JBL Boombox not the extreme

Spoiler alert: it’s overhyped and honestly there are better options at a much lower price if you only care about sound. I own a Brane X and a Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 5. The studio 5 from a few years back went for only around 200 dollars, a third of the price of this speaker. Sure, the Harman Kardon was nothing special with its 5 hour battery life, mono sound, lack of waterproofing, and no smart features, but there’s a catch. The amount of actual deep bass I get from the Harman Kardon is probably the same as the Brane at maximum bass, when the perceived volume level is matched. The Brane, however, has what some people might consider a more “full” high bass and low midrange, but it just sounds murky to my ears, because they left out the most important part of a complete speaker: the treble. Listening to the Harman Kardon on a vocal/treble heavy track then switching to the Brane is like switching from FM radio to AM to my ears. The treble is so much clearer and more detailed on the Harman/Kardon despite it being mono!

Really helpful real world usage feedback...but where are all the proper unbiased and paid for youtube reviews???? ONLY read reviews on the likes of Techradar, TechHive and SlashGear....which are favourable but disconcerting at the same time🫣🤔

I'm sending mine straight back. Sure the bass is fun/cool, but they neglected all the other frequencies. I was actually shocked how bad it sounded. If this was $200 I'd still return it.

the mania has better sound quality but if you really use it on battery its not even gonna last 3 hours at moderate loudness , for a restaurant the mania is a king .

I have the mania for about a month, and today i found out this monster.. i'm really curious which one is better i paid 1000€ for mania and i was looking for loudness and bass in as small as possible speaker..

The bass is good, but be warned, this comes at the cost of the mids and treble. Im not saying this speaker sounds super bad or anything, im just saying the xtreme 4 from JBL is better when it comes to voices.
