Tom, many thanks for a great approach! I will relay your video to my students. Boy that picture at the end is worth a thousand words and keeps the air in perspective! Again thank you!

Great video! Question; Why buzzing with your tongue in front of your mouth?

In general, if the tongue is positioned too far back its hard to get the benefit of a directed air stream.

Hi Tom, Thanks so much for the great advice. I'm wondering about the character of the breath attack. In your opinion, do you think it is beneficial to look for a clear attack/pop (similar to a attack with the tongue)? Or is a "coming into the note" more desireable? I understand that in any case we should be looking for direct response/instant excitement of the lips.

(I'm wondering whether to get a clear attack with the breath attack I need an ever so slightly smaller aperture and what that would do for my playing)

It really can depend on your natural tendencies. Sometimes its good to practice air first then sound… however, in general I look for a good beginning to the sound. Similar to “ah” when singing.

Hi, what do you mean with "finding Zero"? I can guess but I'm not sure, may be because of my english

It means relaxing the body and finding a sense of being grounded.
