Here is Mark's review of the Fisher F-Pulse Pinpointer including setup & Depth Testing. Mark puts the Fisher F-Pulse through several tests to compare it to other popular pinpointers. He will unbox it, set it up and show you how to program it. He then takes it out in the field for some testing to see if it interferes with popular metal detectors. He also compares the depth to another very popular pinpointer. Then back to treasure headquarters to give you his final thoughts. Everything you would ever need to know about the Fisher F-Pulse Pinpointer!

I gave my Garrett pinpointers away after I got my F-Pulse. I have used it on both of my Equinox detectors for years without any interference. Extra-depth has saved me from sliding my shovel across many treasures. You have to realize that those multi-frequency machines have the ability to change frequencies slightly too. Find a decent channel on the pinpointer then while it's still on let the metal detector also search for a clean channel.

Great advice!! I will pin this comment to the top so others can see it. I want to use it if and when I can. Although I have zero complaints (well other than the color 😜) about my Garrett AT Propointer. Thanks for the view and comment! 🤠

Will the F-Pulse interfere with the Minelab Manticore? I'm new to detecting and just starting to get the equipment. Seems like the F-Pulse is a great pinpointer for depth and options.

@@kjmi64, I don't own the Manticore but I know that you can change frequencies on the pinpointer and the detector so I am sure you can select them so there isn't any cross-talk. Remember that the pinpointer is using a different technology (pulse-induction) so it will reduce the likelihood that you will have to play with changing frequencies.

Liked your review. I use my F PULSE with my Nox 800, would not and could not hunt with out it. Had an issue with it after about 12 months, crappy spring which holds the batteries in. I returned it to FISHER in Elpaso Texas and they sent me a new one with the comments , we look AFTER OUR CUSTOMERS, thank you FISHER. and i live in australia

Fisher is a Fantastic Company and as good as it gets for customer service! Good to hear hear your having no issues with the Equinox 800 and this pinpointer. Hoping this comment from you will help other Equinox users have confidence in this pinpointer! Thank you for the view and comment!

To answer your question, PI technology was chosen for the F-Pulse because it's a fairly easy design, it goes deep, and it does well in salt water. Many pinpointers (like the Garrett) are not really VLF; they run at a VLF frequency (like 12kHz) but they use a proximity technology which is akin to the old BFO tech. The reason the F-Pulse interferes with the Minelab PI is because the Minelab uses a multi-period TX pulse and you can't cancel both channels at the same time. It's similar with multifrequency detectors although with some the frequency offset is effective. This brings up another point: interference often depends on the exact pinpointer and the exact detector being used, because each one has slight variances in operating frequencies. This is true regardless of the pinpointer. Finally, 2-AA batteries are cheaper and easier to buy than a 9V, and actually have more energy (watt-hours) than a 9V. The F-Pulse has a shorter battery life because it is a higher-power pinpointer. If you turn set it to the lowest sensitivity, battery life improves.

I have compared the F-Pulse to the Garret carrot, XPMI4, Minelab 35 & Nokta Pulse Dive The F-Pulse Built like a tank And goes Deeper than any one I've compared Nice to know it verifies the target in the ground I've been using it exclusively with the Nokta Legend with absolutely no issues quiet as a mouse Best Pinpointer I've ever used And I have a nice collection Sorry it didn't work out with your detectors Nice video thanks

Hi Jeff, Thank you for the view and comment. I wish I could have compared it to the XPMI4 as well. No doubt it's built very well and is deeper than others, just the interference issues were my only complaints. Like I said in the video, it is ideal with my Minelab Gold Monster 1000 (VLF) so I will still use it. Good to know that you like it and prefer it! Hopefully others will see your comment when trying to make up their minds. All the best, Mark 🤠

I have the Technics Tek-Pointer, rebranded FPulse with some minor software changes (12 frequences). Zero interference with the new Equinox 900 in multifrequency. Blew me away with depth ability, .22cal mushroomed bullet at 11" from surface of wet clay/loam soil. Great tool with a fussy program menu. Prefer the +/- buttons for sensitivity change. No tip protection available, that I can find.

It's ok with my f75 but interferes using my nox ,mind you the minelab profind 35 does aswell .If you point the coill of your detector to the side making it further away and drop the detectors sensitivity it improves .I use an XP mi4 with the nox with no problem at all

I have no issues with the MI6 and XP Deus II either, very stable. The single frequency machines (or MF machines in single freq) don't seem to have as much interference as the MF machines. When I made this video I was just really hoping that a PI (Pulse Induction) technology pinpointer would be impervious to interference with the PI machine. Not really the case in my testing. Thank you for the view and comment!

I tried a couple of them. I nicknamed them the F-False. Mine just never seemed right. Called Fisher and they asked for the Serial number and confirmed it was a Gen 2 (which they said seemed to fix falsing) but that wasn't the case. My two favorite are the Carrot and mi-6.

As far as cross talk does the fpulse still work? How often do you use the pinpointer at the same time? Not often
@BrassMedic
@BrassMedic 5 ай бұрын
So this is a fantastic pin pointer and crosstalk is an issue with some machines. The fact that you can change frequencies on this pinpointer does help it with this issue in most cases. Also keep in mind that when you're recovering a Target you're not going to have the pinpoint or right next to your coil typically your machine is off to the side and a good 20 plus inches away and there is minimal interference. However if there is any interference there's a really good chance you can jump off the frequency. It's a very sensitive and Powerful pinpointer and I recommend it to lots of folks. Thank you for watching and for your comments last question!

Hi mark. I've been trying to decide between the F-Pulse and the Pro Find 35 for gold hunting up here in Montana. I've seen videos in which the P-F 35 can detect tiny gold nuggets...but I haven't been able to find similar tests with the F-Pulse. In your experience how do the two compare at finding gold in the sort of 6 shot nugget size? Any help would be hugely appreciated...thanks.
@BrassMedic
@BrassMedic Жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for your view and question. The F-pulse is better for small nuggets if you can handle any possible interference issues. It is hands down more sensitive on small gold. I mostly use the Garrett Propointer AT but the F-pulse is more sensitive than it too. My recommendation is to get the F-pulse if you don't think interference will be an issue with your machine. Hope this helps you make a decision. Thanks again, Mark 🤠

Correct, it's not an issue with the VLF circuit pinpointers like the Minelab Pro-find 35. It's just the other type of circuit using Pulse Induction that is prone to interfere.

Hello, Thank you for the view and comment/question. Yes, the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 is an incredible machine once setup correctly. Many don't understand how to use it to get the most out of it. @@BrassMedic Thank you for your detailed reply. With us, the bedrock is covered by thick metamorphic layers. The only gold is found as tiny flakes in mountain streams. Therefore a gold detector should be very sensitive. I therefore considered the GM 1000. Unfortunately, it now costs $1,100. Greetings from Austria.

Yeah Great pinpointer but the interference of the pinpointer is crazy on my GPX and also on my equnox not as bad but i have to put the machine a bit further away when i dig the plug and also the pinpointer starts falsing alot when its too close so i brought the Quest Pinpointer Max . and i don't have anything interference problems unless you put the pinpointer very close to the detector coil. But on the equnox you can change the frequently on the matchine.

Thank you for the view and question/comment. There were apparently many improvements from the original version. The on-off button used to come off for some users but that has been remedied with a new design. The pin-pointer used to lock up completely if it was turned on while on an overload of metal. It was falsing a lot on early versions. Newer version turns on quicker. Also lots of chatter about the early ones leaking underwater but that is no longer a commonly reported problem. 🤠

I'll have to check it with my legend too. It's a great pinpointer if it doesn't interfere. I just uploaded a new video yesterday on the Garrett AT Max Jase Robertson Signature Edition and interestingly the Garrett pinpointer was interfering and its a VLF. It wasn't the new, better and much improved Garrett AT Propointer, it's was the first gen Garrett carrot but VERY annoying, had to shut the AT Max off of every dig. 😑 Thanks for the view and comment! 🤠
