Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia at 4, 784ft / 1458m. Located in Hiawassee, Georgia inside the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, this highest point is truly breathtaking!
Once you've parked in the parking lot it's just a short .60 of a mile hike to the very top (or you can take a shuttle that's open seasonally April-??) Once to the top you have very large viewing platform with 360-degree views of the Blue Ridge Mountains (These are the southern part of the Appalachian Mountains)
If you come after hours or in the off season when the visitor center is closed you still need to pay $5 to park. Or its $7 a person during season and that includes the shuttle. OR if you have the America the Beautiful Pass its free to enter.

Brasstown Bald has such great views. I love that observation deck allowing you to look out over the mountains. The visitor's center looks interesting too. Yall always visit such beautiful places. Thanks for sharing them with us!

This looked like a great place Melissa and being the highest place in Georgia you really got some amazing views ! Loved where you said the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia were, those views were stunning and that observation towers and decks have been amazing to be on to see the 360 views a.. around :) The visitor centre looked great and so good that you can learn about history, geology, climate and culture in there. We bought tickets to see The Oak Ridge Boys at the Georgia mountain fairgrounds in Hiawassee back in October. We were going to do the highest point in Georgia the next day. We had work related issues that kept us from going. Thanks for sharing! We got to do it with yall. We got to see the Oak Ridge Boys too. They came closer to where we live. We saw them last night.

A lovely spot in Georgia! I really hope to visit Georgia some day. So cool this is the highest point in Georgia. Nice you can walk or take a shuttle. What incredible views from up too wow! Beautiful even with it being overcast. Those mountains are amazing. Lovely observation deck. Cool you can learn more history and geology in the visitors centre. You always find such amazing places!
