@@Okanekaseku I agree. Hearing the children chanting is not only excellent, but creepy af too. And hearing this theme while fighting "First Born" (the teddy bear Ba'al) was downright unsettling.

I'm not sure why, honestly. This theme isn't in Bravely Second's soundtrack either, and I think it was initially composed for that game given the bosses that use it are actually important to the story.

Not only the song, but the bosses themselves look life they're witches from Madoka Magica

the level design of the battle look like the witches style of Madoka too for me... I though of it seeing Madoka after playing the game.

It actually changes before that, around 1:42. The whole section after is a remix of Wicked Flight from the Bravely Default. It definitely felt a little odd to hear a remix of phase 1 of the first game’s final boss in chapter 1. 0.o

@@nicogalax im guessing so? after all when you fight baals in default, they already have "first" and "fourth" in their names, it would make sense if they knew there were already a "second", "third" ecc. Also they def knew the plot of Second during Default, there is an AR video about Magnolia when you beat the game remember?

@@annesn1fan50 and the stuff about the Celestial Realm in Default seemed important at te time, yeah they set up some things in advance (except stuff like Yew and the Kaiser)

They can't. the switch has no camera. And that's a straight up critical plot moment they'd have to cut without it

@@MrSailing101 I'm not saying that part was not important, it actually was surreal for me on my playthrough. However, I don't think they shouldn't ship the game to switch for that one part. Bravely was such a powerful game, it would be a shame if it were ignored over one part of the game.

Spoiler iirc it used the camera as a “portal” representing our world right? So why couldn’t they just substitute a picture of Earth, Milky Way, etc something to represent our real world? I would also really like to see this game on switch. It definitely deserves it.

Barring the in-game lore, from what I can find on the subject, I believe the original comment was referring to Ba'al Hammon, a Carthaginian god. Ancient Roman and Greek sources record that his favor was earned with the sacrifice of children, something that was initially dismissed by modern scholars until archeologists unearthed urns in places of sacrifice containing cremated infant remains. While scholars disagree over whether or not this proves that children were sacrificed in the name of Ba'al Hammon, the association nonetheless exists, and if that is indeed the connection that this song is trying to make... Well, you can probably guess what happened to that chorus of children.

@@1jidion No, I entirely agree with you on that point. It’s just that it felt a little jarring to hear it in chapter 1 (it’d be kind of like hearing a remix of One Winged Angel for a boss fight in FF7 before you’ve even left Midgar).

@@1jidion That’s technically true enough. *But* the FF7 remake (or rather the first chapter, which is all we’ve seen so far) ends around halfway through disc 1 in the original, just when you’re leaving Midgar. ;p

Bravely Default had 2 Ba'al fights as a way of teasing Bravely Second, but it was only part of a StreetPass feature. They also had the Nemesis demon fights.

@@Larserr oh come on, it definitely has that rough patch but then you get to fight the best boss with the best music. And it’s only a few minutes it just feels longer because it’s tedious. Not nearly a whole half.
