You misunderstood the application of the theme. There's no courage disobeying someone who's obviously evil. That's just the easy thing to do, the game keeps bashing you over the head with how you're on the wrong side so standing against the villain is only natural. The courage stems in ignoring the obvious signs in order to continue with Airy's evil plan so that you can address it at the root, the courage to risk the universe for the true happy ending. The "courage to disobey" is in the meta sense, not from the character's perspective. And before you think I'm reaching, the 4th wall breaks as world's are eaten by Ouroborus was intended to make it obvious that it's about YOUR decision, not the characters.

You actually need to get both endings to get the hidden scene.

​@@ThePiesrbestI think it's just the cultural difference. Not to generalize, but a lot of Japanese people consider the path of least resistance to be the most prudent one. It's how they survived after Hiroshima was scorched by hellfire. With that said, each time the warriors of light went along with her plan while secretly opposing her, hundreds, if not thousands of people died in the process. Like she said, each time the crystals were set to rampage, they opened up a portal in the great chasm, and Tiz's town was annilihated each time. I get what Asano was going for here, but I feel like this detail in the story messes up this message. The only way to save the world is to continually kill thousands of people in the process.... that really seems more like a utilitarian philosophical stance, that in order to create a greater good, many people need to be sacrificed in the process. But it's a job-based, JRPG with a fantasy setting, so I don't play these games for their gripping story. More-so to enjoy the job system at its very best. The reality is, Asano and his studio were working on a shoestring budget, and this continual recycling of content was a way to extend playtime. One thing I like about Bravely Default 2 (the one for Switch and not the abortion known as Second) was that they were actually capable of making a complete game this time. Don't get me wrong, BD1 is still my favorite, but these extra chapters made it a flawed masterpiece. The Ouroboros chapter was the only good one in the second half of the game. Maybe 5 and 6 as well. But by around 7 it becomes repetitive, and instead of fighting all the asterisk holders for a third time in a row, is not worth it. Just awakening the crystals is what I do by that point.

@@MCMXCDX This reminds me of a scene in the oldish "Breath of Fire 2" on the SNES. (SPOILERS) . . . . Its an old game and only a minor spoiler, but you never know :P During the last part of the game, the MC has to optain the power of the great dragon from some immortal wise dragon priest, and the guy lets you talk to each of your friends, who tell you that their journey with you was awesome and made them better people and that they would be happy if you chose them. Then you are told to chose on of your friends to die, in order to optain the power needed to save the world. You can chose any one, but then you will have failed the test. Of course, you have to chose yourself. When you chose yourself, you are asked to cpnfirm three times, and each time the remarks get more angry and snide, from "I understand that you are hesistant to sacrificy anyone of your wonderful friends" till finally "phew. you are too weak, the demon will eat you alive" and then the screen blacks out. But you finally passed the test and optained the mcguffin power that you can only use in the cutscene before the final bossfight. But it was pretty cool, back in the days. I preffer the japanese voices... but the entire dub from this game is really AMAZING.. everyvoice is very similar to originals, specially in the emotions that the dubbers put on each character... and english Agnes sounds so kind and strong at time

If I'm correct; I think Agnes has to repair her grab before your able to do it. This happens after you awaken two crystals in Chapter 5.

I just did it in Chapter 6 with the first crystal, took a few minutes just continue pressing while doing something else. It took 5 minutes or longer for me
