I find it absurd that this whole conversation on defence unquestionably accepts that UK military intervention is a force for good. Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya would suggest otherwise. Less spending on 'defence' would probably save lives.

Braverman had no support in the tory party MPs - otherwise she would have launched a challenge against Sunak. Even with the balance of moderates moved to the right by teh election, she is almost friendless. And the number of times she has now platformed with authoritarian right-wing groups - she should be thrown out of the party - although she is probably too extreme even for Reform these days!
