In this segment of On Location, Coyote and crew brave the wilds of Alaska in search of majestic Bald Eagles!
While there are more Bald Eagles in Alaska than any other state in the USA they can be quite difficult to film due to their incredible eyesight and extremely skittish behavior. Let’s just say sneaking up on an Eagle is far easier said than done! Oh and did we mention there are ice cold rivers and grizzly bears in the way? Yeah, this location will test one’s wilderness skills, that’s for sure!
To help take on this challenge of filming wild Eagles the crew hired professional wilderness guide Joe Ordenez and brought along a giant, and we do mean GIANT, 600mm camera lens to help extended their camera’s reach.
So will they be able to get the epic Eagle shot they’re after?

when we used to film Slow Mo footage for Nat Geo, we would get thick welding gloves and a stick, get a fish and hold it 6' out of the raft while you cover yourself and your gear with a tarp, the eagles would snatch it right off the stick if you hold real still, happens fast and the fish needs to be alive.

In Alaska, there is an island called Kodiak Island, and there is a vast amount of wildlife and surprises there. For example, there is a beach that looks completely tropical with white sand, beautiful sea, many animals, but no tropical trees, and it is called Ocean Beach, in Ocean Bay. I have been to some of the rural villages there, and early in the morning if you go on a boat, you are destined to see whales, porpoises, seal, fox, deer, and many more forms of wildlife. There are many beaches there, and many of which are very diverse in many forms of sea life, and occasionally deer, a fox, or bear. To my knowledge, there are some places to stay that offer boat rides, fishing, etc. And if you really look into it, my grandparents have the best guest house with their house literally isolated in wildlife (with a few modernizations) that would make a great shot. They also offer to boat rides.

I did something like that but in Scotland. On a Loch near Mull to find white tailed (sea) Eagles.They are massive There the 4th heaviest eagle in the world, bigger than golden I saw two Females and there was a forest next to the lake we saw a nest and a brown fletchling reallllllyyy close to us. I also saw quite a lot of Golden Eagles and It was cool seeing a male and female soaring in the air. Because they to hunt for there chick not very far from us. I'll stop typing

my 4 and 7 year old kids love watching this on KZfaq. it's pretty cool, and fun to watch, and educational. my son's favorite episode is the one with the ocelot (because he loves playing Minecraft.)
