Synopsis:
Cheng Shao Shang is a young girl who was forced to grow up alone after most of her family had to leave to fight in a bloody war. Thus she becomes stubborn and untrusting. She fends for herself in a town populated by people like her, who have been left behind by the war.

I have to say that the breakout star of this drama is the Emperor!! I love him!! This character is kind, intelligent, fun, mischievous, and downright sly!! Notice how he doesn’t interfere when the “power ladies” are battling. He waits, listens, then acts at the appropriate time. This character is so UNLIKE other emperors in c-dramas. I repeat I LOVE HIM!

Interesting translation difference in this clip... in other streaming providers her rank is translated as Consort Yue and is considered formally married to the Emperor (but of a lesser rank than the Empress, even though the Emperor treats them the same) a concubine being a much lower rank than them both in the household and not formally married.

I keep coming back to rewatch this scene. It’s perfect, they all dislike the aunt, so when they see the chance to send her on her way they jump on it. SS is so good here, speaking up for herself and not allowing the step mother ruin her day. Then finding out even the king doesn’t like ZL step mother and orders her to not leave the house. Sending a clear message of mess with ZL and his future wife and you’ll be made to pay the price 🥰

this is one of my favorite scenes of the series.... he let Naio Naio know that she can do whatever she want, and he will handle it... and true to his words.. he brought the cavalry.... The Emperor, The Empress, and Consort Yue.... The best trio... he never interfered once cause he knew Naio Naio can fight this battle.... and sure enough she brought the house down.... General Ling was damn proud of her through out the scene....❤❤❤❤❤ Consort Yue is amazing, bold, self righteous lady... although in her youth she had conflicts with madam Huo, but she knew what is right and wrong, her conflict never came in the way to speak up for her.... love how decisive she is, even when emperor had a 2nd marriage, she still was confident on their love and knew that she is the officially married 1st wife... loved her character.....😍😍😍😍😍 the most cute moment, which i replay over and over again is... when old man wanted to divorce his wife... and we can see, Naio Naio went to hide beside Zisheng and he gave her his arm to hold on.. and than they slowly backed away to leave the elders deal with the chaos.......😘😘😘😘🤭🤭🤭🤭🤫🤫🤫 ❣❣❣❣

Эти две женщины глупы. Они так и не поняли, что генерал им расставил ловушку. Они сами вошли и закрыли за собой дверь. Цзышэн прекрасно знал, что Шаошан приймет его сторону, а также глупость и высокомерие этих женщин. Проводя банкет в ее доме, он дал понять, что считает семью Чэн своей семьёй, намеренно проигнорировав отца и мачеху. Мне понравилась момент, когда консорт Юэ дала отмашку Шаошан действовать, которую подтвердил император. Все в комнате, кроме этих двух гусынь знали на что способна мисс Чэн. Ей дали разрешение себя не сдерживать. Она буквально стёрла в пыль "свекровь" для своего возлюбленного. Мужчины стояли и получали удовольствие от того, как она это делает.

Zishen knew that Naio Naio got his back, by holding the banquet in cheng residence, and than when the Royal trio came... it send a powerful message to all the families that not to mess with Naio Naio and his family.... but at the same time he never interfered and Her handle everything.... a perfectly executed scene.. memorable moment... i love this series due to all the reasons, which also includes that every scene is critical and add something to the story, dialogues are amazing and nothing is dragged in the drama

Сначала легкое недоумение, когда супруга Ює просит Шаошан ответить, а затем улыбка после ее первой фразы: "Я ее не унижала". 😁 Он прекрасно знал, что последует дальше. Шаошан не разочаровала, она сделала отбивную из протеже его супруги, да и самой супруге перепало. Он ведь им с внучкой говорил, но они не поверили. Пришло время испробовать блюда собственного приготовления.

She is the first wife of the emperor. But at the time of their marriage he was still a prince fighting for the throne living in poverty outside under the shelter of his uncle and aunt present her in this clip. He had to gain connections and power through marriage. The Empress was the adoptive daughter of a general who let her marry the emperor instead of his own daughter just to keep foot in the game. Then they became the emperor and queen. To compensate his concubine who was also his only true love and partner, the emperor raised her to the same status as the empress. Plus the empress is meek and docile in nature. She is always careful and tries to become the perfect queen. All this factors in and you got a powerful, bold and sexy concubine.

The men are probably all relief that the women found a solution to get rid of the troublesome old bat….to the bewilderment of those on the outside! They probably all wish to be inside to witness the event. Love the way the Ml and FL slowly move away together from the chaos in the center stage. Love this episode and continue to watch it a few times because it is so hilarious.

The problem with most of the characters in this drama is, that they can't accept the fact that karma comes for them. They try to use their titles and backgrounds to conceal and hide the truth. When everything they did comes to light, then they want to play the victim and blame someone else, by using the same excuses, they been slandered or they been humiliated. Truth is, they did it to themselves. They are humiliated and are humiliating themselves.

I must say that it only drama where you se a clever, cunning,intelligent,kind morally upright and loving both towards his children whether they are stupid and cruel, or like himself cunning, intelligent and morally upright as the 3 prince or his adopted son. First emperor I saw in drama General's Lady ,It stars Tang Min and Caesar Wu. In that serial the emperor fight with his brother to pass his inheritance to brother and in the end it’s brothers son his nephew who inherited the throne because both brothers didn’t want to sit on the throne.

It is annoying but they do not have permission to stream the drama so therefore we must either bare with the music, no sound, different titles or else they can be reported and the drama will be blocked as well as their channel. Therefore I understand and tolerate the music and it’s free and I appreciate them.

Mydramalist only lists legal streaming platforms for dramas. Also just look at the number of subscribers on this channel. You can watch so many dramas with eng subs and dubs on this channel and none has been removed. You think nobody from any of the drama's company people ever noticed? Other channel with so many dramas would have been blocked long ago.
