You could clearly tell that Tamar and Ms. E weren’t receiving what Iyanla was saying(even though it was the truth) and Tamar even voiced why she wasn’t being able to receive it (right or wrong it was how she felt). Instead of Iyanla being this amazing life coach, and moderator who should be versatile with the techniques she uses on DIFFERENT people she continued with her harsh, give it to them straight, argumentative tactics. Before anyone @s me with the “that’s how Tamar talks to everyone...” I will admit that is true, should she work on that? Yes she should (I believe she has been, I see growth) however, she is not a life coach and doesn’t claim to be one either. That’s why I believe that a life coach should have the gift to communicate with all kinds of people and personalities in order to help them heal. Iyanla’s tactic isn’t reflective of that ability.

Some people are extremely sensitive, and that’s OKAY! However, as a life coach she should know how to approach different people to get her point across and help them heal. When she made the fish comment I feel like that was a great test, and right then she should’ve known Ms. E didn’t respond well to that blatant honesty. She didn’t change the way she approached Ms. E and as a result Ms. E walked away feeling that every time Iyanla opened her mouth about her it was something negative 🤷🏾‍♀️

You can tell someone the truth without YOU hurting their feelings. That’s the difference. If I already feel like you’re attacking me and then you go on in the same manner speaking the “truth” which already hurts, how do you expect someone to receive that?! Of course the anger will be misplaced. Tamar already expressed she felt like Iyanla was being disrespectful (HER feelings which she was entitled to) and the environment seemed very hostile, as a moderator she should have been able to correct that. Then you have individuals who don't have the tools to navigate life storms in a positive way. Reasons why we have so many lost people. I love me some Tamar but her and Ms. E DO NOT take accountability for their mistakes and bad decisions. It's always someone else. People want the truth but don't want the truth. the truth will not always be presented pretty and wrapped up in a bow. Everyone wants the truth until its about themselves because most people can't handle it. Mrs. E and Tamar are great examples of that. They rather stay in that place of victimization and dysfunction.

Firstly it seems that things have gotten better for the family (speaking as of now) so it’s not that they didn’t want to change or accept the truth, in that time at that moment they weren’t receiving it and that had to do with Iyanla’s delivery for them. It’s just like when people tell Tamar it’s the WAY you talk to people 🤷🏾‍♀️. For example Iyanla could’ve simply told Mr. Braxton and Ms. E that she thinks it’s important to figure out their dynamic and dysfunctional relationship first because it has everything to do with their children and it affects them whether they like that or not. That’s not sugar coating... instead you compre someone who is already feeling offended and attacked to a smelly fish! Make it make sense? How could she possibly think Ms. E was going to receive that well.
