I didn't expect Gilas Pilipinas to beat everybody in this tournament. they achieved beyond my expectations... building an Olympic team doesn't happen overnight.. This Philippine team was formed to qualify for the 2028 Olympics not in this years olympics. but they qualified for this OQT. and surprised everyone.. kudos to the team.

How to get to the next level? Hopefully, Gilas players will avoid injuries by getting stronger. I hope that they can improve on their bigs outside shooting. Fundamentally, their bigs can shoot even beyond the 3 point line. They just need to consistently do it with more practice shooting on an individual basis. This Gilas version has the potential to be much better. I hope this loss against a very good Brazil team does not dampen their desire to play for the national team.

FIBA International Window for the next Fiba World Cup 2027 on the 27th of August in Qatar, slated November 18 2024. FIBA ASIA CUP will start on August 5 2025. Its Long road to prepare our Gilas Team. Probaly way better and stronger with healthy AJ Edu and Kai and build a tougher 2nd unit.

We need a complete and healthy line-up so that if any accident happens on the course of tournament, we still have back-up. Kai's loss impact should have been lesser if we have AJ Edu healthy.

The Philippines should file a protest against Georgia, videos show how a Georgia n player bumped Kai Sotto legs when Kai jumped to deliberately injury him perhaps per instructions of the Georgian coach since they would have lost if Kai played well. The Serbian coach visited the Philippine team after the Brazil game where the injured Kai was not able to play to try to placate us but let us not be fooled and file a protest against Georgia so that this will not be repeated in the future. I think Sotto was th tallest player in the Tournament and made 18 points in the game against Latvia. We could have won the tournament if Kai played in the game against Brazil
