Brazil has the largest Japanese community outside of Japan, I myself was raised alongside immigrants from Japan and they were always kind, friendly and polite, and most Brazilians welcome them with open arms and in a friendly and happy way, we are a country built by immigrants, and therefore, to a certain extent, their culture is also part of ours.

I lived in South America for a long time, and when I first heard Portuguese I wrote to my mother that it sounded like a Frenchman speaking Spanish with bees in his mouth. When I could say that well in Portuguese, Brazilians got a kick out of that description.

I live in a Brazilian community here in the US. Originally the community began as Portuguese but over the last few decades it has transformed to mostly Brazilian. We have people from all over the country so there's a huge variation in the accents. People from the northeast talk very different from the South and people from larger city cit's have a different accent from people in the country. It's not unusual to sit at a table with people from Rio de Janeiro, Patos de Minas, Goiania, Rio Grande do Sul, Carmo do Paranaiba, O Linda, Fortaleza, Sao Paulo capital, interior do Sao Paulo, etc.

Fun fact: there are Japanese families who immigrated to a state in Brazil (Pará) with the Amazon rainforest. Past generations learned from native communities about sustainable planting. Nowadays, the cocoa (of very high quality) produced by them is exported to Japan 💝

Cocktail heritage?? You do realize EVERY human has cocktail heritage right?? We’ve all shifted and moved around this planet and mixed with people that were not from the original area our people came from at the beginning of time. That’s just human history so it’s hilarious to me how you make a comment about “mixed” cocktail heritage when in fact EVERYONE has cocktail heritage. I look, like I’m 100% German, my family has lived in Germany and that area since the first recordings we have, yet my ancestry can be traced back to 9 DIFFERENT AREAS, no-where near Germany! Wouldn’t expect that, considering all of my family has lived in Germany, we don’t have people living in other regions of the world, yet, even though I am “german” being a HUMAN, means you share human blood with the rest of the world, which has shifted, changed locations all over this planet earth. She is human, not a “cocktail” you say that as if she was just a thrown together pile of clothing, no she is a human, just the same as all of us, no matter how “pure” you think you are, you aren’t, you are human, I gurantee you have cultural lineage that has nothing to do with what you think your heritage is from.
