I found this when I searched for videos showcasing authentic bossa nova patterns on guitar. I absolutely love your playing! It sounds vastly more alive and dynamic than the bossa nova tutorials out there that all sounds rather simplistic and sterile. Personally, I don't play like that and I learned bossa nova in the 90's as a teenager from one of the most internationally well known jazz guitarists in Finland. I have a habit though that might not be very good; I generally add a 16th note (if written in 2/4) before the notes on the downbeat. I always hear the bass line like that in bossa and seeks to replicate that. The habit has obviously never bothered me, and I've considered myself quite good at bossa nova comping, but perhaps it's making the rhythm sound too busy?
