It looks like this technique requires the attacker to hug pretty high above the elbows, leave space for you to step, not react to your movements, not move his feet or legs when you reach for them, and not move his arms up to your exposed neck when you grab his leg.

It also helps if you set it up right. What's missing is the heel to the groin to bring your assailants legs together. Then a reverse headbutt to the nose to stun. Then do everything he just showed without leaning over like he was. Then you finish it off with a throw from the hips..... if done in 1 fluid motion this sucks for the attacker.
@craig1457
@craig1457 3 жыл бұрын
@BC 4467 thats why the first thing you do is get your base so they can't bull dog you to the ground. In this video the way the guys arms were so high the guy teaching could've hit his base and quickly raised his arms about shoulder level and likely shrugged his way out of it. If that didn't work... groin check... head butt.... throw

I was taught this, except what you do is just fucken slam him. You get him in the hold as shown, and best as you can, just slam him on his back. It’ll knock the wind out of them, hopefully release their grapple, and if they did let go, allow you to get a disabling punch to solar plexus, capitalizing on their already fucked breathing.

@cosmic9arrow
@cosmic9arrow 3 жыл бұрын
@@debbiedowner4327 i agree, and not only that, but women arent as strong on average compared to a man, so if a man is bear hugging her lifting her off the ground before she can even plant her feet or get a solid base, then that move is already obsolete, this move is so conditional that you would need to learn like more than 1 way in case you cant meet those conditions presented in this video.
@debbiedowner4327
@debbiedowner4327 3 жыл бұрын
@@cosmic9arrow exactly so. I mean first of all. Nobody is going to bear hug you to start a fight. So consider that you’re either dazed or at least been hit already, or, are about to be very imminently. Then consider that nobody in this scenario is standing still. Everything is moving and you’re fighting an adrenaline rush to stay calm and remember any training you’ve done. Then there’s the actual execution of the move; which as you rightly say - depends on so many physical attributes that, in a man vs woman situation, the man will certainly enjoy the advantage. Honestly women’s self defence as a whole is a joke and a massive scam to dupe women out of their money. If you want a society of people who are confident and more importantly, competent, at defending themselves and their family. Introduce martial arts as a school subject. Make it compulsory up until age 13. The benefits this would offer society would be monumental.
@cosmic9arrow
@cosmic9arrow 3 жыл бұрын
@@debbiedowner4327 i agree, learning martial arts without training every day to improve your strength and dexterity is like learning deep sea diving without ever training your lungs, its just not possible. Not only that but like you said, fights are very fast, scrappy, and if anything people need to learn how to dodge, how to observe the body language, and adjust your own body accordingly to what you know is about to happen, so by the time they do what you know theyre going to do, you already have your counter, and you never have time to think about what youre gonna do in a fight, thats why you dont think about what youre doing that should already be ingrained in muscle memory, all you gotta learn is body language, like when you see their shoulder go back, you know to expect a punch from that arm, you gotta wait on is the timing, cause if you time it too fast, theyll notice and adjust their punch in the air and connect with your face, if youre timing is too slow, well, youve also just been hit in the face, also you more smarter fighters will throw fakes, so you think theyre swinging, but counter, for this you pay attention to their footing and again shoulders, their footing will tell you which punch holds the more power, and their shoulders tell you when theyre gonna throw that punch, it honestly is so conditional cause it depends on who youre fighting and what they do, thats all martial arts has ever been, is observation, and adaptation.

Yeah in a reality if somebody already got your back, you will be lucky just to escape the grip assuming you are not 5 levels above your opponent in skills. You think it is that easy to grab somebody’s hands from below when he is holding you like that? His hands are going to slide under your throat and if it slips maximum he is just going to let you go. This bullshito fighters need to include assumption yhat the attacker is not dead person or their student.

@@artkirakosyan2633 We're not talking about competition bjj here. This is a self defense technique against the average Joe and more than likely if they grab you like this, they're not going to think to slip an arm around the neck for a choke. Likely someone grabbing you like this is because they're trying to help another individual get licks on you. I've been in the same situation and this technique would've been nice to know.

@@seymourfunkan9824 my point is that if you are same level you won’t be able to pull this off, believe me. If he is an average joe and you are an average joe, still wouldn’t work. Somebody behind you is a huge disadvantage for you. Better try to get rid of the grip first. Escape from that position anyway possible, before tryin to do some tricks. I am telling you this doesn’t work. If average joe shows some resistance he won’t be able rven to demonstrate what he is trying to do. He won’t be. Ask him. Yes if you are judo master maybe you can do whatever you want to the aggressor.
