I think for me the most difficult sound in brazilian portuguese is the sound of "r" where it is pronounced like "h", but just in some words (not sure why). For example words like "rato", "rápido", "cachorro" are easier, but "corre", "errei" are a bit harder (I feel like my pronounciation doesn't always sound right). Also in DuoLingo a lot of times when I say "é" it writes "e é", not sure if it's a bug in the application or my pronounciation is a bit off there.

@@Francys_pt I know it's the same, it's probably the "e" after it that makes it a bit more difficult for me in those words, I don't know. I mean in romanian we also have this combination, written like "he" ("heliu", "hectar", "hexagon", ...), but I feel like the portuguese sound is a bit different (to me it sounds like a mix of english "h" and a bit of "r").

"E é" sounds like "yeah", but without the "a" and slower.

@@Francys_pt The r is the same, but I think what he is saying is that for some (eg Anglos), its location becomes more difficult for some of us to say that r sound - even though it's the same sound. It's easy to start a word with that r sound, but harder to sandwich in between two vowel sounds.

Nos últimos 2 anos e 4 meses de aprendizado.. eu nunca aprendi o alfabeto quer dizer.. como pronunciar as letras.. mas tive conversas por telefone 😂 Não foi esperando isso no vídeo, mas tô feliz pq se eu precisasse soletrar uma palavra.. não saberia como 😅 Acho que deveria trabalhar nisso 😅

Na minha opinião é pronúncia mais dificil palavras que têm letras abertas ou fechadas como é, ê, ó, ô. A diferença na pronúncia de essas letras é sutil. É incomum palavra "Hotel" é pronunciado sem letra "H" e "L" muda a "U". Eu costumava pensar que o estoniano é bastante difícil de pronunciar porque temos as letras Õ,Ä,Ö,Ü. Mas agora sei que pronunciar o português é muito mais gentil e detalhado.

Yes, we had a problem with the editing program and we only noticed after the video was published. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the video once it has been published. I hope the video is useful anyway. :)

Professora,eu sou brasileiro e tenho 41 anos. Fui ensinado quando criança que ao falar as letras no alfabeto,tanto a letra E quanto a letra O,não são pronunciadas com o som aberto. Para ter esse som que você mostrou no começo do vídeo,precisariam estar acentuadas com o acento agudo? Isso foi uma mudança com os anos ou fui eu quem foi ensinado errado?

A pronúncia aberta ou fechada das vogais "e" e "o" depende muito do sotaque. As duas formas são corretas. No Nordeste, a pronúncia é geralmente aberta. No Sul e Sudeste, a pronúncia geralmente é fechada.

Tenho 42 anos e no Rio aprendi com o som aberto mesmo, mas sempre notei que em São Paulo, eles falam com o som fechado. Como a professora disse, depende da região.

Faltou a pronúncia do C. Que as sílabas se pronunciam fora da lógica. Ca(ka), ce(se), ci(si), co(ko), cu(ku).

That's true. I think a better example in English would be the word "awe," which is very similar to the open "o" sound in Portuguese.

@@SpeakingBrazilian even awe where I'm from in England wouldn't work haha. we prounounce awe like the word or. It's very difficult to get across universally without using the very scientific phonetic alphabet, that only serious students know well enough to use

Acho que entendo qual é o problema: Speaking Brazilian não quer dizer que a lingua chama-se Brazilian em inglês, mas que o objetivo do canal é ensinar como falar como um brasileiro. Aqui o nome refere-se ao sotaque brasileiro em geral. 😊
