Many people say she is truly the girl from impanema but actually she isn't. The writer was at his beach home in Brazil and everyday he saw this blond girl walk by his front window taking a leisurely stroll down the sandy beach. He never found out who she was but he wrote the "girl from Impanema" which was about this girl. Astrud Gilberto sang the song and turned it into immortality!
