Brazing copper with the Henrob 2000. Three different brazes: sheet copper, copper bars and a lap joint in copper sheet.

I am not sure of what you mean by "weld copper sheet". You can braze copper sheet. I generally think of welding with the oxy/ace torch as working with ferrous metals such as steel or stainless. I'd suggest doing a Google search for "Cuts like a Plasma". Jim, at "Cuts like a Plasma" is very knowledgeable and can answer your question.

yeah, I saw your video! But I did see another one where I guy had something on the order of 2-1/2" copper pipe and was brazing/welding it into Copper x Male adapters. It turned out real nice.. I watched the thing several times. I tried to do this with 1-1/2 copper and failed. I think I had too much O2.

No, I've never done any dovetail joining.

The only copper wire brazing I've done is in my KZfaq videos. Look for brazing with copper wire. I've never seen a video of brazing copper pipe with copper wire.

I do metal spinning and have had a few times where I needed to braze larger vessels. Have you ever done dovetailed joining?

I actually don't think that much about the angle of the torch. I know what I want the results to be and intuitively adjust the torch accordingly. Figure out what angle gives you the results you want and go with that. Over time you will adjust that position slightly without even thinking about it.

i don't know if you're still keeping tabs on your video here sir but i was wondering if this would work for copper plates, joining at a 90 degree angle

Yes you can join. Basic rule is thicker the sheet, more heat is needed to heat the copper.

Hi George, With your experience with so many different metals, what recommendation would u have for trying to reattach a handle on to a silver tea pot? Was going to try soldering paste for less heat against the silver, but not sure of the strength of the weld. thanks.

Peter, I don't work with silver. Probably best be done by a jeweler with

George Goehl Thanks anyway George. I'm doing it as a favor for one of my older neighbor woman. Hasn't money and cherishes the tea pot so told her id give it a try, but want to do it right if at all. thanks again.

I have seen a guy brazing copper pipe with copper wire, but I cant seem to get the hang of it. Cant find the video anymore either,. Any thoughts??

Can this torch weld copper sheet?

G'day George, You appeared to be holding the torch at a quite shallow angle for those examples, Was this due to the camera angle or in fact shallow? I only ask because it seems contrary to the demos by the resellers of the torch. I have one btw and am in the process of relearning the skill after 30 years away from first efforts.

What if you are using 48 oz copper?

The Henrob DHC 2000 would be excellent for brazing heavy copper. I've always been amazed at how much heat it take to heat up heavy copper. The more intense heat of the Henrob compared to a standard Oxy/Ace torch, would make it go much faster.
