@@Apollo55_ That's not actually true. When I was a munitions systems specialist in the Airforce, we worked with shapped thermite charges that would put a pencil sized hole through an engine block and were used for demilitarizing different types of equipment so the enemy couldn't come in and use it after we left. Depending upon mix and method of deployment, you can do a lot with thermite that doesn't end with the immediate and complete destruction of something.

are you sure it's magnesium lit by thermite? Usually it's the other way around. Thermite is extremely difficult to light, so burning magnesium is often used to start the thermite reaction.
@dillonpatterson43102 жыл бұрын
I'm no expert by any means but it does definitly appear to be a magnesium rod and thermite is usually a reddish color so it adds up. Well they are way lighter than a angle grinder or bolt cutters. One of these things could be carried on your gear easily while manipulating your fighting rifle. Not every situation would allow the time or team members to have someone go fetch a angle grinder or bolt cutters. Also, one of these torches would cut through a quality hardened steel pad lock/chain rather quickly vs either the bolt cutters or angle grinder. Ive had a pad lock that I tried some big bolt cutters on and didn't get anywhere with it. Then the angle grinder... loud as fuck. Your breaching and want to be as stealth and as fast as possible right? Just saying and Ive never even heard of one of these "breech pens" till tonight.

@kade4265 жыл бұрын
@@bagofsunshine3916 I built a few foundries for melting aluminum and can assure you that concrete is always wet and retaining moisture if exposed. If molten aluminum hits what looks like dry concrete it will pop from steam explosions and aluminum is cold compared to this stuff.
@bagofsunshine39165 жыл бұрын
huh, didn't know that so little moisture was needed for it to explode. i've only seen concrete do that when it was visibly moist. or it recently dried so you could asume that there is still some moisture in it. So when wouldn't this happen? on an indoor concrete floor? or obviously on anything not concrete.
@kade4265 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't trust any concrete unless slowly heated and held above boiling for a few hours. Look up the curing of refractory cement and you'll get an idea of how long of a process it is. In the video you can hear rain in the background so I have no doubt the concrete is moist. He's talking about 5000 degrees and I wouldn't dare let that kind of heat near moisture. Superheated steam can displace it's water volume 1000x, when I spilled aluminum on concrete a chunk the size of a golf ball popped and threw the aluminum all over.
