As difficult as this situation may be at this very moment for your daughter, this experience will also strengthen her. Faith is not faith simply on the surface by doing and wearing things; faith lives inside of us and therefore, although she may refuse her religious faith now, she may come back to it. You must let her grow and feel these emotions because these are life's biggest teachers. All you can do is provide support, compassion, empathy and guidance. I truly believe that when you speak to a child with honesty and realism, they may not understand in that very moment but eventually they will understand what you meant. I am a Sikh woman married to a Hindu man. In bringing up my daughter, neither of us force our child to follow either religion. We explain the foundations of each religion and the customs as we experience them but there is no force because this is what causes angst and anxiety later in life. I hope it all works out for you and your family.

I think best you can do is to let her know about both religions infact all religions. Let your daughter make her choice. We can't force religion on anyone because following a religion is to practice peace. Let her choose of she wants to be Religious or Spiritual 🙏🙏. And for the principal I think you can complain it to the school committee or go and talk principal and let them know how she's being harassed or ask her to stand up for herself against bullies.

Thank you ladies for your moral support. Actually, my hubby and I, never had any religion issue with my kids. They are exposed to both religions. Its the way the principal insist that my daughter chooses only ONE to follow thay baffles us, knowing this is a mixed marriage.

Yes they are due to our paat karmas but everytime you are currently doing something bad you get bad for it and if you do good then you receive good but manytimes good people suffer more even.it is not because of karma sometimes it is for good too. You should take help of gurbani

Refer to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ang 134, As she has planted, so does she harvest; such is the field of karma. Nature is wonderful it rewards and punishes sometimes instantly....put you hand in fire it burns you, or in time...sow a seed and provided you nurture it in its early life in due course you will harvest whatever you planted. The choice is yours. ..make informed choices that bring you joy as well as others...so you shall reap.

If you are working and your kids are of tender age then legally no one can stop you from having custody. In case you are not earning just show sufficient means from your maternal side to support your kids. Engage a good lawyer or else seek legal aid from a court ,that is your legal right.
