From www.witness.org | There is a silent crisis that effects every community in America: Elder abuse. Every year an estimated 5 million of America's older adults are beaten, ignored or financially exploited. Yet, as a country, we remain silent about this growing crisis.
To begin to address this problem, Congress has an immediate opportunity to pass federal legislation that will provide a foundation from which we can begin to protect our country's elders -- the Elder Justice Act. But we cannot do this without your help. Please help us break the silence by adding your voice to the national campaign and urge Congress to pass the Elder Justice Act now! The fact that the cost of elder abuse is more than $10 billion each year should be sufficient to attract proper attention to this problem.

Dear God Guide, and protect the Elderly From the painful claws of the criminals, who are so sick in their heads. Wrap your arms around them for protection, and never let go. May there be some one watching who will see the abuser, who will stand up, and speak up for those who can't. Keep those alert at all times of their surroundings and the people around them. For all those who are suffering Elder Abuse may they get relief as soon as Possible God bless you darlings , peaceful sleep. A poet.

Abusing the elderly is one of the most despicable things you can do, if you're going to abuse anyone it had better be someone in their prime.

I totally agree, my local Sheriffs Office said my mail carrier can run me over wheelchair & all because she alleged I abuse her & she is the lady that has Stalked me for 10 years & the USPS condones her Abuse & so does the Police. I have proof of her Abuse & Elder Abuse Attorneys all say my case has Merit but is way to complex & in Oregon it is up to the Victim to Civilly sue your abuser & Adult Protective Services can do nothing until she causes me physical injury until then I am her Pet Gimp!

One abuser, YOU CAN RUN , BUT YOU CAN NOT HIDE. NOT IN THIS DAY AND AGE. SO MANY PEOPLE WILL BE WAtCHING YOU. You will be more nervous than your Step grand mother you abused in Hanford. Thank God she disowned you, your mother and deceased brother. We elder's are not keeping SILENT any more., we are speaking up. I'm packing the HEAT ON ELDER ABUSE.

@MerryElliott You are very right, not a single person has earned the right to abuse any form of God's creation. But we should also keep in mind that we also have the responsibility to protect them to avoid them from falling into the hands of abusive people.

Alert America. Stand up against Elder Abuse. let's all fight back against this horror that's going on behind closed doors. This is a message to Melissa Fee the daughter of Lynda Schleisner, sister of April Charlton. You and your accomplices must stop harrassing the Elder who lives in Hanford. The Chief of Police Mr Metas don't give a flip about the abuse. Well let me tll you. Leave her alone. She has had enough, you and your criminals should keep your distance. Did you ever help your G.dad.

Justice for disabled elders in America is a GIGANTIC JOKE. I'm now 75+, had a disability all my adult life which caused me to be denied military service & live alone. I've reported elder crimes for 5+ years including multiple felonies by a confidence guy from Portland Oregon who admits in writing he's known I'm disabled, dealing with serious life threatening health issues, old & live alone ...yet he not only stripped me of whatever he could get his hands on while I was laying on an ER gurney... he then did all he could to trip me up in his revenge making my life a living hell because others demanded accountability & reprimanded him for his abuse, fraud and manipulation of a sick elder .....and authorities do NOTHING after being repeatedly told of this con-artist caused my Soc. Sec funds to be blocked, missing Soc. Sec under his control or direction, his Postal Fraud, his attempted extortion, his abuse, manipulation of a sick elder for his personal agenda, Class "C" grand larceny theft of my property, neglect, & scams. Far wonder, Oregon is now the worse state for any elder to even pass through even with documented proof, this guy laughs all the way to my bank and controls. Please, don't just say how bad it is .....get ALL elders real help NOW .....REAL JUSTICE NOW !!!! ...before these con-artist kill us off. God will bless you for indicting these creeps.

Stop Elder Abuse now, this is degrading, shameful. How can you all look your selves in the mirror first thing in the am, or let alone sit on the comode.Shame, shame,Shame on you and your accomplices. I can not stop the tears from falling. Just because she stands up speaks up and tell it like it is.
