Kh2 sora moveset was perfect, really. Even without the fusion is very balanced.

I never realized how beautiful the Explosion finisher really was

For being self taught sora's skills are really impressive. He's so powerful for being learn from experience not training just imagine how much more powerful he'll be if he does get proper training and have a real teacher

my favorite are horizontal slash when combines with the ability where combo finishers don't happen while MP is recharging you can chain it endlessly and really deal some fast damage. explosion is great too, just the feel of it. KH 2 really had some great combat.

7:56 is such underrated information. They never specify the *timing* required to pull this off. I swear I used to pull this off against Sephiroth all the time and now for some reason I can barely get *_Counterguard_* to proc

It should be pointed out that Lion Form Sora has a similar ability to Vicinity Break. You should totally do one of these for KH1FM Sora!

Aerial Dive is also just a better Aerial Sweep, because if you equip just AD, it still triggers underneath the enemy and far away, and it hits more times and also I think it has an extremely large parry frame

I'm curious how this stacks up to roxas' moves in days. They seem kinda similar but also slightly different enough so that roxas may have his own style. I know kh2 roxas was just kh1 sora but days is different. It's always interesting how different everything really is.

if there's one thing I wish Kingdom Hearts 2 kept, it'd be the lockon from Kingdom Hearts 1. The lockon from Kingdome hearts 1 actually gave the player some crucial information for using specific attacks. For example: - If Sora was considered *"far"* away from the enemy the lock on will appear as a circle broken into four segments. Hitting attack from this distance sora will perform the sliding dash attack. (If equipped.) - If Sora is considered *"medium"* distance away. The Lock on will appears as a circle broken into two segments. Hitting the attack button from this distance and Sora will perform the Vortex attack (if equipped.) - If Sora is close to the enemy lock will be a whole circle and Sora will perform the slapshot attack (if equipped) While not necessary it was just really cool to see the consideration the developers put in the game and it was so much fun to figure it out.

Ok, I love this video. It's about time someone "archived" his moves.

Idea: If Sora was in Smash, block could be his neutral special. It would block weak moves and be broken by strong ones, and you'd be able to use counter guard after a successful block by pressing A.

Flashstep = I think it should be pointed out that Sora is thrusting forward with the hilt out, being more like a tackle. His hand is also on the Tooth part of the keyblade, which is used the push diagonally upward much faster than the base combo version.

About triggering Aerial Dive, you have to be a certain distance from the enemy in order for it to trigger. Though really, it’s just a better Aerial Sweep

Dodge slash looks so weird when you watch Sora's footwork the whole way through. At a glance, he looks like he's hopping from one foot to the other as he dances about but he's really jumping on his right foot only the whole time, and he twists his body in a way that makes it look like he should have no force behind the second and third slashes.

I’ve actually been playing this today and finally gotten through the Roxas section! So cannot wait to use these abilities! Especially finishing leap because of smash and why is the effects from this game for it not in Ultimate?! The cool spikes made of light should be there!

says he doesn't think dodge slash is a bad ability literally shows a clip of it whiffing all but one hit it's bad because it's a slow ability and can literally get you killed on bosses with a fast recovery time because it whiffs so much. it can parry attacks well, but it's not a good trade off

KH2 was ahead of it's time. Shame Square never capitalized on it :/

One thing I found intriguing that you didn't verbally point out: during the dash in Flash Step, Sora appears to be supporting the Keyblade with his free hand near the (apparently) "dull" side of the tip (which he can Zantet-freakin'-suken with just fine iirc) to bash the whole Keyblade into the enemy from the middle of the Keyblade; as opposed to just thrusting leading with the tip of the Keyblade as during most other dash attacks.

God I love how counterguard and breach looks. Kingdom hearts 2 is the game that showed me light is a cool element. Piecing and fierce. Any chance you will go into recoded comabt?

Also might be worth pointing out that during aerial spiral, if you don't mash x (or circle if you're playing original japanese version) you will do three hits. But if you do mash, you will only do two.

I like how Sora's combat matures with each game, or at least reflects his maturity with the keyblade within that game. Maybe that's a video idea. It's pretty obvious from kh1 to 2, but even from 2 to 3, he's less "wild". I do think kh2 base combat looks a little cooler than 3's.

In my opnion, Context-sensitivy actions (enemies surrounding you, above you, bellow you, etc) isn't my kinda of thing. You taking some of the control from the character and putting on something that he either have to go into harm's way to activate, or not being able to use due to the criteria to use not being met. I would love if KH had a somewhat similar control scheme to Devil May Cry, with lock-on + directional held dictating the action that will happen.

So nice that combat, unlike kh3 sora's moves that seems like he doesn't even have a target, he swing the keyblade too much and stuff

Someday.... not any time soon because Kingdom Hearts is still full of animations to harvest, but someday... you should play Final Fantasy XV and break down Noctis’s different weapon combat moves.

Except it was explained that Dodge Slash is a bad ability to have equipped when taking on superbosses, especially those like Lingering Will and Sephiroth who have a fast stagger recovery time.

Dodge slash is often bad due to being able to wiff hits easily. The best example where its bad is against Sephiroth.
