I think it probably does. I was at a White Sox game years ago when Adam Dunn was in the dugout getting into it with reliever Will Ohman in between innings(I don't think any cameras picked it up). It didn't seem like anything crazy, but Ohman was released a couple weeks later and it was the end of his career. Ohman was awful though at that point so it probably was not related to whatever I saw.

You don't have time to reposition a cut-off man when you're throwing the ball that would be the catcher's job. Your job is to get the ball in as quickly as possible and throw it to the right base which was third base. YOU learn how to play baseball!

Machado could have repositioned the shortstop for a throw a third since it was coming to him he could have lined up the shortstop but the man throwing the ball does not take the time to line up his own cut off

You always hustle to get the ball in. You don’t challenge the runner you get the ball back in to keep the damage to a minimum. Any of my coaches saw me do this. I would be riding the pine the rest of the game.

The cutoff man was out of position but that doesn't mean you hang on to the ball and wait for him to get into position, weather cut off is in position or not. Actually it was a really good throw. But if he gets the ball and throws immediately to Third the runner doesn't go the cut off man catches the ball and the play is over. Unfortunately it didn't work that way

Make them hold themselves accountable. QBs do it all the time in the NFL. One thing to make mistakes, completely different when it's half assing it and hurting your team.

Actually, it looked a lot different. This video didn’t show Soto talking with Profar and then Machado and Musgrove talking to him a second time with a much friendlier vibe. Also, I think Profar is humble enough to take the criticism, and Manny has toned it down to be constructive.

He made a mental mistake (he wasn’t daring Rojas, he was trying to direct the play from the outfield). That’s the basis of the criticism. Machado and Musgrove were telling Profar not to do that. Throw the ball and let the infield figure it out. Machado was much less aggressive with Profar, even backing off after he said his piece. Musgrove said his piece. Soto weighed in, putting his arm around Profar. If anything, this dug out chat is an example of a team learning to simmer down and move on. They trust Profar to learn from his mistake.
