I’ve used no sugar, but before you start thinking this is virtuously sugar-free (which I could claim it to be), remember that the sweetness that comes from the dates is, in essence, sugar, though certainly it’s unprocessed and full of fibre at the same time. Make these bars at the weekend, and you’ll be set up for the week if you’re someone who needs to grab-and-go in the morning".

Best if you know some facts behind the ingredients. Best way ti use and digest flax seeds is. Gently roast them for 50 secs in a warm not hot pan, allow them to cool down. Then grind them down and use them in your recipe.

They are mostly mixed with wheat or barley. Thus, unfortunately, the corn flakes you can buy in stores usually aren't gluten free, so that's why you need a gf version ☺️

everything is about money, always. i imagine the production company is just catering to changing food tastes. however, i do agree it is tragic because i don't understand the appeal in watching someone in traditional media cook bird food. there's a weird irony in it as well because despite the West's current increasing obsession with alleged clean eating, i haven't personally seen data which indicates populations are any less overweight (not saying it doesn't exist).

Its seed that is high in antioxidant. You can buy it from any health food store.

Not sure about this one. I love seeds, but in things as an ingredient, not glued together in blocks. This one was a step too far away from good food towards health trend for me.

I cannot emphasise enough how horrible this is. To add insult to injury the ingredients were very expensive. I'm just debating whether to break up the remaining 17 bars, mash in some golden syrup and butter and return to the oven. Or I could just feed them to the birds.
