Look at the hatred athletes are getting when they don't want to participate in these events... look what happened to that Blue Jays pitcher when all he did was retweet something about his religion and did nothing wrong. Even when he bowed down and apologized to the elites and took part in his mental "retraining" (1984) he still got kicked from the team.

Most people who watch sports watch it because they enjoy it and want to watch whatever game is being played. I don’t think most people care what jersey the athletes choose and not choose to wear. You can’t force people to do something they don’t want to do or feel comfortable doing, and if you do, then you’re no better than they are.

The reality is you can have a night to honour literally anything and everything going on in the world, and when you pick and choose specific things, even some that not everyone agrees on, you’re creating tension, division, and conflict. Idk why they’d be so enraged at the idea of a professional sports organization staying neutral. They talk abt change and how they’re not being progressive when they stay neutral... GOOD! If you’re looking up to a sports league to talk abt anything other then sports, then you’re delusional. Why should they be the ones paving the way when we have politicians, presidents and prime ministers for that? Let sports be sports, it should really be that simple.

I support the players that declined to wear the pride jerseys for the same reasons I support the players who kneel during the anthem. All reasons given were respectful and thoughtful nothing hateful. They weren’t simply yelled at. They were harassed,stalked,doxxed, threatened, fired, sent to “re-education training”. This was the straw that broke the camels back. People didn’t really care that they had these jersey pregame activities because there were multiple groups being represented. Sure some didn’t like certain groups and others found it a distraction but it was grumblings at best. Sh*t hit the fan when people started doing the aforementioned when players for whatever reason didn’t want to participate. It became seen as forced compliance and indoctrination, which it was, and at that point the NHL was in a lose lose situation where they were losing money and they decided to simply remain neutral.

So out of touch with reality that they can't see they are the reason these nights are being removed. If they focused on the actual events instead of the players choosing not to participate this would have never needed to happen. Suggesting the team be "fined a million dollars " for allowing players to choose not to participate or suggesting players be benched if they don't wear the jerseys is ridiculous not everyone has to support every cause. Sid blaming the NHL when the media is too blame and now all groups suffer. Probably for the best, all of these events were getting out of hand and the number of causes was getting a bit saturated.
